তারা স্বীয় ধর্মকে তামাশা ও খেলা বানিয়ে নিয়েছিল এবং পার্থিব জীবন তাদের কে ধোকায় ফেলে রেখেছিল। অতএব, আমি আজকে তাদেরকে ভুলে যাব; যেমন তারা এ দিনের সাক্ষাৎকে ভুলে গিয়েছিল এবং যেমন তারা আয়াতসমূহকে অবিশ্বাস করত।
”Who took their religion as an amusement and play, and the life of the world deceived them.” So this Day We shall forget them as they forgot their meeting of this Day, and as they used to reject Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).
الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُواْ دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فَالْيَوْمَ نَنسَاهُمْ كَمَا نَسُواْ لِقَاء يَوْمِهِمْ هَـذَا وَمَا كَانُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ
Allatheena ittakhathoo deenahum lahwan walaAAiban wagharrat-humu alhayatu alddunya faalyawma nansahum kama nasoo liqaa yawmihim hatha wama kanoo bi-ayatina yajhadoona
YUSUFALI: “Such as took their religion to be mere amusement and play, and were deceived by the life of the world.” That day shall We forget them as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and as they were wont to reject Our signs.
PICKTHAL: Who took their religion for a sport and pastime, and whom the life of the world beguiled. So this day We have forgotten them even as they forgot the meeting of this their Day and as they used to deny Our tokens.
SHAKIR: Who take their religion for an idle sport and a play and this life’s world deceives them; so today We forsake them, as they neglected the meeting of this day of theirs and as they denied Our communications.
KHALIFA: Those who do not take their religion seriously, and are totally preoccupied with this worldly life, we forget them on that day, because they forgot that day, and because they spurned our revelations.
