তারাই মুমিন, যারা আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূলের প্রতি ঈমান আনার পর সন্দেহ পোষণ করে না এবং আল্লাহর পথে প্রাণ ও ধন-সম্পদ দ্বারা জেহাদ করে। তারাই সত্যনিষ্ঠ।
Only those are the believers who have believed in Allâh and His Messenger, and afterward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allâh. Those! They are the truthful.
إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الصَّادِقُونَ
Innama almu/minoona allatheena amanoo biAllahi warasoolihi thumma lam yartaboo wajahadoo bi-amwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi ola-ika humu alssadiqoona
YUSUFALI: Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and have never since doubted, but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: Such are the sincere ones.
PICKTHAL: The (true) believers are those only who believe in Allah and His messenger and afterward doubt not, but strive with their wealth and their lives for the cause of Allah. Such are the sincere.
SHAKIR: The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger then they doubt not and struggle hard with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah; they are the truthful ones.
KHALIFA: Mu’mens (believers) are those who believe in GOD and His messenger, then attain the status of having no doubt whatsoever, and strive with their money and their lives in the cause of GOD. These are the truthful ones.
১৪। মরুবাসী আরবেরা বলে ৪৯৩৪, ” আমরা বিশ্বাস করলাম।” বল, ” তোমরা ঈমান আন নাই ; বরং তোমরা [ শুধুমাত্র মুখে ] বল, ‘আমরা আল্লাহ্র কাছে আত্মসমর্পন করেছি ৪৯৩৫।’ কারণ বিশ্বাস এখনও তোমাদের অন্তরে প্রবেশ করে নাই। কিন্তু তোমরা যদি আল্লাহ্ ও তাঁর রসুলকে মান্য কর,তবে তোমাদের কর্মফল সামান্য পরিমাণও লাঘব করা হবে না। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ্ বারে বারে ক্ষমাশীল, পরম করুণাময়। ”
১৫। শুধুমাত্র তারাই [ প্রকৃত ] মোমেন যারা আল্লাহ্ ও তাঁর রসুলে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে এবং তারপরে কোন সন্দেহ করে না। অপরপক্ষে তারা তাদের জীবন ও সম্পদ দ্বারা আল্লাহ্র পথে সংগ্রাম করে। এসব লোকেরাই হচ্ছে সত্যনিষ্ঠ।
৪৯৩৪। মরুবাসী আরবেরা ইসলামের বিজয় দর্শনে প্রভাবিত হয়ে আনুগত্য স্বীকার করে। কিন্তু তাদের হৃদয় ও মন ছিলো ভীত, ক্ষুদ্রাতিক্ষুদ্র বস্তুর চিন্তায় তাদের মন হতো আবর্তিত, বিশ্বাস ও অবিশ্বাসের মাঝে তাদের আত্মা হতো সর্বদা দোদুল্যমান। কিন্তু প্রকৃত ঈমান হচ্ছে আল্লাহ্র বিধানের কাছে নিঃশর্ত আত্মনিবেদন। মরুবাসী আরব যারা ঈমান অর্জনে পিছিয়ে পড়েছিলো তাদের কথা সাধারণ ভাবে বলা হয়েছে [ ৪৮ : ১১ – ১৫ ] আয়াতে। যাদের পটভূমিতে এই আয়াতটি নাজেল হয় তারা ছিলো ‘বানু আসাদ’ গোত্র। এরা ইসলাম কবুল করে, দুর্ভিক্ষের সময় সাহায্য লাভের আশায়। ইসলামের সৌন্দর্যে মুগ্ধ হয়ে তারা ইসলাম কবুল করে নাই।
৪৯৩৫। অর্থাৎ মরুবাসী আরবরা শুধুমাত্র মৌখিকভাবে বলে যে তারা আত্মসমর্পন করেছে। এটা একটা বাহ্যিক কথা মাত্র। এর কোন আন্তরিক ভিত্তি নাই। যদি তাদের প্রকৃত ঈমান থেকে থাকে তবে এ কথার সত্যতা প্রমাণ করতে হবে।
