মুমিনগণ! তোমরা যখন মুমিন নারীদেরকে বিবাহ কর, অতঃপর তাদেরকে স্পর্শ করার পূর্বে তালাক দিয়ে দাও, তখন তাদেরকে ইদ্দত পালনে বাধ্য করার অধিকার তোমাদের নাই। অতঃপর তোমরা তাদেরকে কিছু দেবে এবং উত্তম পন্থায় বিদায় দেবে।
O you who believe! When you marry believing women, and then divorce them before you have sexual intercourse with them, no ’Iddah [divorce prescribed period, see (V.65:4)] have you to count in respect of them. So give them a present, and set them free i.e. divorce, in a handsome manner.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نَكَحْتُمُ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَمَسُّوهُنَّ فَمَا لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ عِدَّةٍ تَعْتَدُّونَهَا فَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ وَسَرِّحُوهُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيلًا
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha nakahtumu almu/minati thumma tallaqtumoohunna min qabli an tamassoohunna fama lakum AAalayhinna min AAiddatin taAAtaddoonaha famattiAAoohunna wasarrihoohunna sarahan jameelan
YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! When ye marry believing women, and then divorce them before ye have touched them, no period of ‘Iddat have ye to count in respect of them: so give them a present. And set them free in a handsome manner.
PICKTHAL: O ye who believe! If ye wed believing women and divorce them before ye have touched them, then there is no period that ye should reckon. But content them and release them handsomely.
SHAKIR: O you who believe! when you marry the believing women, then divorce them before you touch them, you have in their case no term which you should reckon; so make some provision for them and send them forth a goodly sending forth.
KHALIFA: O you who believe, if you married believing women, then divorced them before having intercourse with them, they do not owe you any waiting interim (before marrying another man). You shall compensate them equitably, and let them go amicably.
৪৯। হে বিশ্বাসীগণ ! তোমরা মুমিন নারীগণকে বিবাহ করার পর, তাদের স্পর্শ করার পূর্বে তালাক দিলে তাদের পালনীয় কোন ইদ্দত নাই যা তোমরা গণনা করবে ৩৭৩৮। সুতারাং তাদের উপহার দাও ৩৭৩৯, এবং সৌজন্যের সাথে তাদের বিদায় দাও ৩৭৪০।
৩৭৩৮। দেখুন টিকা ২৫৪ এবং আয়াত [ ২ : ২২৮ ]। ইদ্দতের সময়কাল তিনমাস বা তিনরজঃস্রাব। দেখুন [৬৫ : ৪ ] আয়াত।
৩৭৩৯। এই উপহার সামগ্রী সম্বন্ধে অনেকে এই মত পোষণ করেন যে, আয়াতে [ ২ : ২৩৭ ] যে অর্দ্ধেক দেন-মোহরের উল্লেখ আছে তাহা ব্যতীতও এই উপহার সামগ্রী প্রাপ্য। যদি দেন-মোহর ধার্য না হয়ে থাকে , তবে এই উপহার সামগ্রী হবে প্রচুর পরিমাণে এবং আয়াতে [ ২ : ২৩৬ ] এই উপহারের কথা বিশেষ ভাবে বলা হয়েছে।
৩৭৪০। ” সৌজন্যের সাথে বিদায় দিবে।” অর্থাৎ উপহার সামগ্রী দিতে হবে সহৃদয়তার এবং স্বাভাবিক মাধুর্যের সাথে। কোনও অবস্থাতেই নারীদের স্বাধীনতা খর্ব করা চলবে না। যদি সে তৎক্ষণাত বিয়ে করতে চায়, তালাকের পরে তার কোনও বাধা থাকবে না। অর্থাৎ উপহারের সাথে নারীর স্বাধীনতার কোনও যোগসূত্র নাই। উপহার দান দ্বারা এ কথা যেনো মনে করা না হয় যে, সে কোনও ভাবে কৃতজ্ঞতা পাশে আবদ্ধ থাকবে।
