বলুন, তোমরা কি তোমাদের সে শরীকদের কথা ভেবে দেখেছ, যাদেরকে আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে তোমরা ডাক? তারা পৃথিবীতে কিছু সৃষ্টি করে থাকলে আমাকে দেখাও। না আসমান সৃষ্টিতে তাদের কোন অংশ আছে, না আমি তাদেরকে কোন কিতাব দিয়েছি যে, তারা তার দলীলের উপর কায়েম রয়েছে, বরং জালেমরা একে অপরকে কেবল প্রতারণামূলক ওয়াদা দিয়ে থাকে।
Say (O Muhammad SAW): ”Tell me or inform me (what) do you think about your (socalled) partnergods to whom you call upon besides Allâh, show me, what they have created of the earth? Or have they any share in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book, so that they act on clear proof therefrom? Nay, the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) promise one another nothing but delusions.”
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ شُرَكَاءكُمُ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُوا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ أَمْ آتَيْنَاهُمْ كِتَابًا فَهُمْ عَلَى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْهُ بَلْ إِن يَعِدُ الظَّالِمُونَ بَعْضُهُم بَعْضًا إِلَّا غُرُورًا
Qul araaytum shurakaakumu allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi aroonee matha khalaqoo mina al-ardi am lahum shirkun fee alssamawati am ataynahum kitaban fahum AAala bayyinatin minhu bal in yaAAidu alththalimoona baAAduhum baAAdan illa ghurooran
YUSUFALI: Say: “Have ye seen (these) ‘Partners’ of yours whom ye call upon besides Allah? Show Me what it is they have created in the (wide) earth. Or have they a share in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book from which they (can derive) clear (evidence)?- Nay, the wrong-doers promise each other nothing but delusions.
PICKTHAL: Say: Have ye seen your partner-gods to whom ye pray beside Allah? Show me what they created of the earth! Or have they any portion in the heavens? Or have We given them a scripture so they act on clear proof therefrom? Nay, the evil-doers promise one another only to deceive.
SHAKIR: Say: Have you considered your associates which you call upon besides Allah? Show me what part of the earth they have created, or have they any share in the heavens; or, have We given them a book so that they follow a clear argument thereof? Nay, the unjust do not hold out promises one to another but only to deceive.
KHALIFA: Say, “Consider the idols you have set up beside GOD; show me what on earth have they created.” Do they own any partnership in the heavens? Have we given them a book wherein there is no doubt? Indeed, what the transgressors promise one another is no more than an illusion.
৪০। বল , ” তোমরা আল্লাহ্র পরিবর্তে যাদের ডাক , সেই শরীকদের কি তোমরা দেখেছ ? ৩৯৩২ তারা এই [বিশাল ] পৃথিবীতে কি সৃষ্টি করেছে আমাকে দেখাও। অথবা আকাশ মন্ডলী সৃষ্টিতে কোন অংশ আছে কি ? অথবা তাদের কি আমি কোন কিতাব দিয়েছি ,যা থেকে তারা সুষ্পষ্ট [ প্রমাণ ] লাভ করতে পারে ? না, বরং পাপীরা একজন অন্যজনকে প্রবঞ্চনা ব্যতীত প্রতিশ্রুতি দেয় না। ”
৩৯৩২। যারা আল্লাহ্ ব্যতীত অন্য উপাস্যের উপাসনা করে তাদের জন্য কয়েকটি প্রশ্ন এই আয়াতে উত্থাপন করা হয়েছে। প্রশ্নগুলি করা হয়েছে সংক্ষিপ্ত ও স্পষ্টভাবে :
১) তোমরা যাদের উপাসনা কর তাদের কথা চিন্তা করে দেখেছ কি ? এখানে চিন্তা করতে বলা হয়েছে তাদের বাস্তবতা সম্বন্ধে। পৃথিবীতে অনেক কিছুই চোখে দেখা যায় না কিন্তু বাস্তবে অনুভব করা যায় যেমন : বায়ু চোখে দেখা যায় না , কিন্তু অনুভব করা যায়। রঞ্জন রশ্মি বা X-ray, স্বাভাবিক শ্রুতিশক্তির সীমাবর্হিভূত শব্দ [ ultra sound ] ইত্যাদি বহু বস্তু আছে যা চর্ম চক্ষুতে দেখা যায় না কিন্তু বাস্তবে যার অস্তিত্ব বিদ্যমান। তোমাদের উপাস্য দেব-দেবীর কি সেরূপ কোন অস্তিত্ব বর্তমান , যার সাহায্যে তোমরা তার বাস্তবতা অনুভব কর ? যারা আল্লাহতে প্রকৃত বিশ্বাসী তারা আত্মার মাঝে আল্লাহকে চক্ষুতে না দেখেও তাঁর অস্তিত্ব অনুভব করে। মিথ্যা উপাস্যের উপাসকরা কি তা করে ?
২) তাদের দেবদেবীরা কি পৃথিবীতে কিছু সৃষ্টি করতে সক্ষম ? মানুষ ক্ষমতা ও সম্পদকে পৃথিবীতে সর্বাপেক্ষা শক্তিশালী মনে করে তাকেই জীবনের উপাস্যের বিষয় মনে করতে পারে , কিন্তু তা তো শুধুমাত্র নিজের স্বার্থের জন্য প্রতিযোগীতা বই আর কিছু নয়। সম্পদ ও ক্ষমতা মানুষকে বা পৃথিবীকে কোনও কিছুই দেয়ার ক্ষমতা রাখে না।
৩) এসব মিথ্যা উপাস্যেরা কি আকাশমন্ডলী সৃষ্টিতে অংশ গ্রহণ করে ? অবশ্যই তারা তা করতে সক্ষম নয়।
৪) তারা কি কোন কিতাবের অধিকারী বা তারা আল্লাহ্র নিকট থেকে কিতাব লাভ করেছে ? যার সাহায্যে তারা মানুষকে শিক্ষা দান করবে ? আল্লাহ্ একমাত্র তাঁর নবী ও রসুলদের এ দায়িত্ব অর্পন করেছেন -অন্য কাউকে নয়। তাঁরাই হচেছন এক আল্লাহ্র কর্তৃত্বের প্রধান সাক্ষী। প্রকৃতপক্ষে মিথ্যা সব সময়েই মিথ্যা – এবং এক মিথ্যা অন্য মিথ্যার সাহায্যে বিভ্রান্তের সৃষ্টি করে থাকে।
