যে ব্যক্তি দয়াময় আল্লাহর স্মরণ থেকে চোখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়, আমি তার জন্যে এক শয়তান নিয়োজিত করে দেই, অতঃপর সে-ই হয় তার সঙ্গী।
And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allâh) (i.e. this Qur’ân and worship of Allâh), We appoint for him Shaitân (Satan devil) to be a Qarîn (an intimate companion) to him.
وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُ شَيْطَانًا فَهُوَ لَهُ قَرِينٌ
Waman yaAAshu AAan thikri alrrahmani nuqayyid lahu shaytanan fahuwa lahu qareenun
YUSUFALI: If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of (Allah) Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate companion to him.
PICKTHAL: And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade;
SHAKIR: And whoever turns himself away from the remembrance of the Beneficent Allah, We appoint for him a Shaitan, so he becomes his associate.
KHALIFA: Anyone who disregards the message of the Most Gracious, we appoint a devil to be his constant companion.

৩৬। কেউ যদি দয়াময় আল্লাহ্র স্মরণ থেকে বিমুখ হয় ৪৬৩৮ আমি তাদের জন্যএক শয়তানকে নিয়োজিত করি তার অন্তরঙ্গ সহচর হিসেবে।
৪৬৩৮। এই বিশাল বিশ্বভূবনের প্রতিটি বস্তু ও প্রাণ আল্লাহ্র প্রাকৃতিক আইনের আওতাভূক্ত। ঠিক সেরূপ ভাবে মানুষের আধ্যাত্মিক জগতও নৈতিক আইনের আওতাভূক্ত। যদি কেউ ইচ্ছাকৃতভাবে আল্লাহ্র স্মরণে বিরত থাকে, তবে আল্লাহ্ প্রদত্ত নৈতিক বিধান অনুযায়ী তার আত্মাকে শয়তান অধিকার করে রাখবে। আমাদের ধারণায় আমরা শয়তানকে বিমূর্তরূপে ধারণা করি। কিন্তু আমাদের জীবন ও জীবনযাত্রা প্রণালীর মাধ্যমেই শয়তানের প্রকৃতরূপ ফুটে ওঠে।
