তোমরা যখন কুফর করছিলে, তখন তোমাদের আজকের আযাবে শরীক হওয়া কোন কাজে আসবে না।
It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allâh’s remembrance and His worship, etc.) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarîn) in the punishment.
وَلَن يَنفَعَكُمُ الْيَوْمَ إِذ ظَّلَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
Walan yanfaAAakumu alyawma ith thalamtum annakum fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona
YUSUFALI: When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment!
PICKTHAL: And it profiteth you not this day, because ye did wrong, that ye will be sharers in the doom.
SHAKIR: And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement.
KHALIFA: It will not console you on that day, as transgressors, that both of you will share in the retribution.
৩৯। যখন তোমরা দুনিয়াতে পাপ করেছিলে, আজ তা তোমাদের কোন কাজে আসবে না ৪৬৪২। সেদিন তোমরা উভয় পক্ষ শাস্তির ব্যাপারে পরস্পর অংশীদার ।
৪৬৪২। পাপী ও তার মন্দ সঙ্গী কেহই শাস্তি থেকে রেহাই পাবে না। সেদিন অনুতাপ কোন কাজে আসবে না। যদিও মন্দ সর্বদা অন্যের মন্দ কামনা করে থাকে। তবুও মন্দ সঙ্গীও শাস্তিযোগ্য হবে এই সংবাদও কোনও পাপীর আত্মাতে সান্তনা দিতে সক্ষম হবে না। প্রত্যেকেই প্রত্যেকের ব্যক্তিগত দায় দায়িত্বে আবদ্ধ থাকবে।
