এটা এজন্যে যে, তারা সেই বিষয়ের অনুসরণ করে, যা আল্লাহর অসন্তোষ সৃষ্টি করে এবং আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টিকে অপছন্দ করে। ফলে তিনি তাদের কর্মসমূহ ব্যর্থ করে দেন।
That is because they followed that which angered Allâh, and hated that which pleased Him. So He made their deeds fruitless.
ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ اتَّبَعُوا مَا أَسْخَطَ اللَّهَ وَكَرِهُوا رِضْوَانَهُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالَهُمْ
Thalika bi-annahumu ittabaAAoo ma askhata Allaha wakarihoo ridwanahu faahbata aAAmalahum
YUSUFALI: This because they followed that which called forth the Wrath of Allah, and they hated Allah’s good pleasure; so He made their deeds of no effect.
PICKTHAL: That will be because they followed that which angereth Allah, and hated that which pleaseth Him. Therefor He hath made their actions vain.
SHAKIR: That is because they follow what is displeasing to Allah and are averse to His pleasure, therefore He has made null their deeds.
KHALIFA: This is because they followed what angered GOD and hated the things that please Him. Consequently, He has nullified their works.
২৮। ইহা এই হেতু যে, তারা সেই বস্তুর অনুসরণ করে যা আল্লাহ্র ক্রোধকে ডেকে আনে, এবং তারা আল্লাহ্র সন্তুষ্টিকে ঘৃণা করে। সুতারাং তিনি তাদের কর্মকে নিষ্ফল করে দেন।
