আমি প্রত্যেক উম্মতের জন্যে কোরবানী নির্ধারণ করেছি, যাতে তারা আল্লাহর দেয়া চতুস্পদ জন্তু যবেহ কারার সময় আল্লাহর নাম উচ্চারণ করে। অতএব তোমাদের আল্লাহ তো একমাত্র আল্লাহ সুতরাং তাঁরই আজ্ঞাধীন থাক এবং বিনয়ীগণকে সুসংবাদ দাও;
And for every nation We have appointed religious ceremonies, that they may mention the Name of Allâh over the beast of cattle that He has given them for food. And your Ilâh (God) is One Ilâh (God Allâh), so you must submit to Him Alone (in Islâm). And (O Muhammad SAW) give glad tidings to the Mukhbitin [those who obey Allâh with humility and are humble from among the true believers of Islâmic Monotheism],
وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ جَعَلْنَا مَنسَكًا لِيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَى مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّن بَهِيمَةِ الْأَنْعَامِ فَإِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَلَهُ أَسْلِمُوا وَبَشِّرِ الْمُخْبِتِينَ
Walikulli ommatin jaAAalna mansakan liyathkuroo isma Allahi AAala ma razaqahum min baheemati al-anAAami fa-ilahukum ilahun wahidun falahu aslimoo wabashshiri almukhbiteena
YUSUFALI: To every people did We appoint rites (of sacrifice), that they might celebrate the name of Allah over the sustenance He gave them from animals (fit for food). But your god is One God: submit then your wills to Him (in Islam): and give thou the good news to those who humble themselves,-
PICKTHAL: And for every nation have We appointed a ritual, that they may mention the name of Allah over the beast of cattle that He hath given them for food; and your god is One God, therefor surrender unto Him. And give good tidings (O Muhammad) to the humble,
SHAKIR: And to every nation We appointed acts of devotion that they may mention the name of Allah on what He has given them of the cattle quadrupeds; so your god is One God, therefore to Him should you submit, and give good news to the humble,
KHALIFA: For each congregation we have decreed rites whereby they commemorate the name of GOD for providing them with the livestock. Your god is one and the same god; you shall all submit to Him. Give good news to the obedient.

৩৪। আমি প্রত্যেক সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য [ কুরবাণীর ] নিয়ম নির্দ্দিষ্ট করেছি। তাদের জীবনোপকরণ স্বরূপ [খাদ্যপোযোগী ] যে সকল পশু দিয়েছি তারা যেনো তাদের উপর আল্লাহ্র নাম উচ্চারণ করতে পারে ২৮১০। কেননা তোমাদের উপাস্য একমাত্র আল্লাহ্, অতএব তোমরা তার [ ইচ্ছার ] নিকট আত্ম সমর্পন কর। এবং [ হে মুহম্মদ ] সুসংবাদ দাও বিণীতগণকে ২৮১১-
২৮১০। কোরবাণীর মাধ্যমে আল্লাহ্র প্রতি সর্বোচ্চ আত্মত্যাগের সর্বশেষ নিদর্শন প্রদর্শন করা হয়। এই আয়াতের অর্থ এই যে, এই উম্মতকে কোরবাণীর যে আদেশ দেয়া হয়েছে তা কোন নূতন আদেশ নয়। পূর্ববর্তী উম্মতদেরও কোরবাণীর আদেশ দেয়া হয়েছিলো। এই কোরবাণী হতে হবে শুধু মাত্র এক আল্লাহ্র সন্তুষ্টির জন্য। কোরবাণীর পশুর রক্ত মাংস কিছুই আল্লাহ্র কাম্য নয়। বান্দার একাগ্রতা ও নিজেকে উৎসর্গ করার মানসিকতা হচ্ছে কোরবাণীর প্রতীক যা পশু কোরবাণী ও তার মাংস গরীবদের সাথে অংশগ্রহণের মাধ্যমে উদ্যাপন করা হয়। কোরবাণীর পশুর উপরে আল্লাহ্র নাম উচ্চারণ করা হজ্জ্বের আনুষ্ঠানিকতার এক প্রধান অংশ।
২৮১১। “সুসংবাদ দাও ” তাদের জন্যই সুসংবাদ যারা বিনয়ী। দম্ভ বা অহংকার যাদের উদ্ধত ও অত্যাচারী করে তোলে নাই। যারা জাগতিক অর্থ সম্পদ ক্ষমতা সব কিছুর জন্য সর্বশক্তিমানের কাছে কৃতজ্ঞ এবং আল্লাহ্ সন্তুষ্টি লাভের জন্য গরীব ও নির্যাতিতের সেবায় নিজেকে উৎসর্গ করে, যারা সুখে – দুঃখে স্বাচ্ছন্দে ও অভাব অনটনে আল্লাহ্র কাছে কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করে এবং সন্তুষ্ট থাকে তারাই বিণীত।
উপদেশ : বিনয় এমন একটা গুণ যা আল্লাহ্র নিকট অত্যন্ত প্রিয়। মোমেন বান্দার চরিত্রে এই গুণটির প্রকাশ ঘটবে।
