তাঁর সম্প্রদায়ের প্রধানরা যারা কাফের ছিল, পরকালের সাক্ষাতকে মিথ্যা বলত এবং যাদেরকে আমি পার্থিব জীবনে সুখ-স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য দিয়েছিলাম, তারা বললঃ এতো আমাদের মতই একজন মানুষ বৈ নয়। তোমরা যা খাও, সেও তাই খায় এবং তোমরা যা পান কর, সেও তাই পান করে।
And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: ”He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink.
وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِلِقَاء الْآخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَاهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مَا هَذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ
Waqala almalao min qawmihi allatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biliqa-i al-akhirati waatrafnahum fee alhayati alddunya ma hatha illa basharun mithlukum ya/kulu mimma ta/kuloona minhu wayashrabu mimma tashraboona
YUSUFALI: And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: “He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink.
PICKTHAL: And the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had made soft in the life of the world, said: This is only a mortal like you, who eateth of that whereof ye eat and drinketh of that ye drink.
SHAKIR: And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world’s life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink.
KHALIFA: The leaders among his people who disbelieved and rejected the idea of the Hereafter – although we provided for them generously in this life – said, “This is no more than a human being like you. He eats from what you eat, and drinks as you drink.
৩৩। তাঁর সম্প্রদায়ের প্রধানগণ , যারা অবিশ্বাস করেছিলো, এবং পরলোকের সাক্ষাত করাকে অস্বীকার করেছিলো এবং যাদের আমি পার্থিব জীবনে [ প্রচুর ] ভোগ-সামগ্রী দিয়েছিলাম, তারা বলেছিলো, ” সে তো তোমাদের মত একজন মানুষের বেশী কিছু নয়; তোমরা যা আহার কর , সে তাই আহার করে এবং তোমরা যা পান কর সেও তাই পান করে।”
৩৪। “যদি তোমরা তোমাদেরই মত একজন মানুষের আনুগত্য কর, সাবধান , এটা নিশ্চিত যে,তোমরা ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ হবে ২৮৯৫।
২৮৯৫। এই আয়াতে আ’দ বা সামুদ সম্প্রদায়ের আরও বর্ণনা দান করা হয়েছে। এই বর্ণনার মাধ্যমে সকল যুগের কাফেরদের মানসিকতাকে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। তাদের ধারণা পার্থিব জীবন ব্যতীত অন্য কোন জীবন নাই। সুতারাং জীবন মরণ এই দুনিয়াই এবং কোন পুনরুজ্জীবন নাই। এ সব অবিশ্বাসীদের বিদ্বেষ ও হিংসা এই আয়াতে এক লাইনে সুন্দর ভাবে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে; “তোমরা তোমাদিগেরই মত একজন মানুষের আনুগত্য কর ” বাক্যটি দ্বারা। তাদের ধারণা পরকাল বলে কিছু নাই। এ সব কথা বলা হচ্ছে শুধুমাত্র আনুগত্য আদায় করার উদ্দেশ্যে। এ সব কাফেররা পরলোকের উল্লেখেও বিরক্ত বোধ করে। ভবিষ্যতের কথা চিন্তা করতে তারা অপারগ। বর্তমান তাদের সব কিছু। শুধুমাত্র বর্তমানকে উপভোগের মাধ্যমেই তারা তাদের জীবনের শেষ পরিণতি দেখতে চায়।
মন্তব্য : বর্তমান পৃথিবীতে মুসলমানদের মধ্যেও এক বিরাট জনসমষ্টির উদ্ভব ঘটেছে , যারা নামেই শুধুমাত্র মুসলমান। কর্মে তারা প্রমাণ করে যে পরলোকের জীবন তাদের শুধুমাত্র হাসি খেলার বস্তু।
