সে তো আমাদেরকে আমাদের উপাস্যগণের কাছ থেকে সরিয়েই দিত, যদি আমরা তাদেরকে আঁকড়ে ধরে না থাকতাম। তারা যখন শাস্তি প্রত্যক্ষ করবে, তখন জানতে পারবে কে অধিক পথভ্রষ্ট।
”He would have nearly misled us from our âliha (gods), had it not been that we were patient and constant in their worship!” And they will know when they see the torment, who it is that is most astray from the (Right) Path!
إِن كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنْ آلِهَتِنَا لَوْلَا أَن صَبَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا وَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ حِينَ يَرَوْنَ الْعَذَابَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا
In kada layudilluna AAan alihatina lawla an sabarna AAalayha wasawfa yaAAlamoona heena yarawna alAAathaba man adallu sabeelan
YUSUFALI: “He indeed would well-nigh have misled us from our gods, had it not been that we were constant to them!” – Soon will they know, when they see the Penalty, who it is that is most misled in Path!
PICKTHAL: He would have led us far away from our gods if we had not been staunch to them. They will know, when they behold the doom, who is more astray as to the road.
SHAKIR: He had well-nigh led us astray from our gods had we not adhered to them patiently! And they will know, when they see the punishment, who is straying farther off from the path.
KHALIFA: “He almost diverted us from our gods, if it were not that we steadfastly persevered with them.” They will certainly find out, when they see the retribution, who are the real strayers from the path.
৪১। যখনই তারা তোমাকে দেখে, তারা তোমাকে উপহাস না করে ছাড়ে না : ” এই কি সেই ব্যক্তি যাকে আল্লাহ্ রসুল করে পাঠিয়েছেন?
৪২। ” সে তো আমাদের আমাদিগের উপাস্য থেকে পথভ্রষ্ট করে ফেলার উপক্রম করেছিলো, যদি না আমরা তাদের প্রতি অবিচলিত থাকতাম।”- শীঘ্রই তারা জানতে পারবে, যখন তারা শাস্তিকে প্রত্যক্ষ করবে- যে কোন্ ব্যক্তি পথ থেকে অধিক ভ্রষ্ট। ৩০৯৬
৩০৯৬। “Sabil” শব্দটির অর্থ পথ। এখানে পথভ্রষ্ট শব্দটির দ্বারা চরিত্রের নৈতিক মূল্যবোধ বিচ্যুতিকে বোঝানো হয়েছে। জীবন যাপনে নৈতিকতা বর্জিত ব্যক্তি।
