তারা কি দেশ-বিদেশ ভ্রমণ করে না, যাতে দেখত তাদের পূর্বসুরিদের কি পরিণাম হয়েছে? তাদের শক্তি ও কীর্তি পৃথিবীতে এদের অপেক্ষা অধিকতর ছিল। অতঃপর আল্লাহ তাদেরকে তাদের গোনাহের কারণে ধৃত করেছিলেন এবং আল্লাহ থেকে তাদেরকে রক্ষাকারী কেউ হয়নি।
Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the End of those before them? They were even superior to them in strength, and in the traces (they have left) in the land: but Allah did call them to account for their sins, and none had they to defend them against Allah.
أَوَ لَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوا هُمْ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍ
Awa lam yaseeroo fee al-ardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena kanoo min qablihim kanoo hum ashadda minhum quwwatan waatharan fee al-ardi faakhathahumu Allahu bithunoobihim wama kana lahum mina Allahi min waqin
YUSUFALI: Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the End of those before them? They were even superior to them in strength, and in the traces (they have left) in the land: but Allah did call them to account for their sins, and none had they to defend them against Allah.
PICKTHAL: Have they not travelled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those who disbelieved before them? They were mightier than these in power and (in the) traces (which they left behind them) in the earth. Yet Allah seized them for their sins, and they had no protector from Allah.
SHAKIR: Have they not travelled in the earth and seen how was the end of those who were before them? Mightier than these were they in strength– and in fortifications in the land, but Allah destroyed them for their sins; and there was not for them any defender against Allah.
KHALIFA: Did they not roam the earth and note the consequences for those before them? They used to be stronger than they, and more productive on earth. But GOD punished them for their sins, and nothing could protect them from GOD.

২১। তারা কি পৃথিবী ভ্রমণ করে দেখে না যে – তাদের পূর্ববর্তীদের কি পরিণাম হয়েছিলো ৪৩৮৬। তারা পৃথিবীর বুকে ক্ষমতায় এবং [ রেখে যাওয়া ] কীর্তিতে শ্রেষ্ঠতর ছিলো ৪৩৮৭। কিন্তু আল্লাহ্ তাদের পাপের হিসাব গ্রহণের জন্য গ্রেফতার করলেন। এবং আল্লাহ্র বিরুদ্ধে তাদের রক্ষা করার কেহ ছিলো না।

৪৩৮৭। দেখুন [৩: ৯ ] আয়াত ও টিকা ৩৫১৫। ইতিহাস আমাদের এই সাক্ষ্য দেয় যে, যুগে যুগে বহু কীর্তিমান , শক্তিশালী ,সুসভ্য জাতি ধ্বংস হয়ে গেছে তাদের পাপ কাজের দরুণ। তাদের দক্ষতার শেষ প্রমাণ এখনও বহু স্থানে বিদ্যমান , তাদের নির্মিত বিশাল সৌধমালা , প্রাসাদপম অট্টালিকার মাধ্যমে। তাদের জ্ঞান, দক্ষতা, শক্তি কিছুই তাদের ধ্বংসের হাত থেকে রক্ষা করতে পারে নাই। তাদের পাপের দরুণ আল্লাহ্ তাদের ধ্বংস করে দেন।
