বরং তা আসবে তাদের উপর অতর্কিত ভাবে, অতঃপর তাদেরকে তা হতবুদ্ধি করে দেবে, তখন তারা তা রোধ করতেও পারবে না এবং তাদেরকে অবকাশও দেয়া হবে না।
Nay, it (the Fire or the Day of Resurrection) will come upon them all of a sudden and will perplex them, and they will have no power to avert it, nor will they get respite.
بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ
Bal ta/teehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum fala yastateeAAoona raddaha wala hum yuntharoona
YUSUFALI: Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite.
PICKTHAL: Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved.
SHAKIR: Nay, it shall come on them all of a sudden and cause them to become confounded, so they shall not have the power to avert it, nor shall they be respited.
KHALIFA: Indeed, it will come to them suddenly, and they will be utterly stunned. They can neither avoid it, nor can they receive any respite.
৪০। কেবল তাই নয়, উহা তাদের উপর আসতে পারে অতর্কিত ভাবে এবং তা তাদের হতবুদ্ধি করে দেবে। উহা নিবারণ করার কোন শক্তিই তাদের থাকবে না। [ তখন ] ওদের কোন অবকাশও দেয়া হবে না।
৪১। তোমার পূর্বে [ অনেক ] রাসুলকে বিদ্রূপ করা হয়েছিলো। পরিণামে তারা যা নিয়ে ঠাট্টা – বিদ্রূপ করতো তা বিদ্রূপকারীদের পরিবেষ্টন করবে ২৭০১।
২৭০১। অনুরূপ আয়াতের জন্য দেখুন [ ৬ : ১০ ] আয়াত এবং টিকা ৮৪৩। কাফেররা যা নিয়ে ঠাট্টা বিদ্রূপ করতো সেই ব্যঙ্গ বিদ্রূপের শাস্তি তাদের ঘিরে ধরবে।
