তুমি কি দেখ না যে, আল্লাহ মেঘমালাকে সঞ্চালিত করেন, অতঃপর তাকে পুঞ্জীভূত করেন, অতঃপর তাকে স্তরে স্তরে রাখেন; অতঃপর তুমি দেখ যে, তার মধ্য থেকে বারিধারা নির্গত হয়। তিনি আকাশস্থিত শিলাস্তুপ থেকে শিলাবর্ষণ করেন এবং তা দ্বারা যাকে ইচ্ছা আঘাত করেন এবং যার কাছ থেকে ইচ্ছা, তা অন্যদিকে ফিরিয়ে দেন। তার বিদ্যুৎঝলক দৃষ্টিশক্তি যেন বিলীন করে দিতে চায়।
See you not that Allâh drives the clouds gently, then joins them together, then makes them into a heap of layers, and you see the rain comes forth from between them. And He sends down from the sky hail (like) mountains, (or there are in the heaven mountains of hail from where He sends down hail), and strike therewith whom He will, and averts it from whom He wills. The vivid flash of its (clouds) lightning nearly blinds the sight. [Tafsir At-Tabarî].
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُزْجِي سَحَابًا ثُمَّ يُؤَلِّفُ بَيْنَهُ ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُ رُكَامًا فَتَرَى الْوَدْقَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلَالِهِ وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ السَّمَاء مِن جِبَالٍ فِيهَا مِن بَرَدٍ فَيُصِيبُ بِهِ مَن يَشَاء وَيَصْرِفُهُ عَن مَّن يَشَاء يَكَادُ سَنَا بَرْقِهِ يَذْهَبُ بِالْأَبْصَارِ
Alam tara anna Allaha yuzjee sahaban thumma yu-allifu baynahu thumma yajAAaluhu rukaman fatara alwadqa yakhruju min khilalihi wayunazzilu mina alssama-i min jibalin feeha min baradin fayuseebu bihi man yashao wayasrifuhu AAan man yashao yakadu sana barqihi yathhabu bial-absari
YUSUFALI: Seest thou not that Allah makes the clouds move gently, then joins them together, then makes them into a heap? – then wilt thou see rain issue forth from their midst. And He sends down from the sky mountain masses (of clouds) wherein is hail: He strikes therewith whom He pleases and He turns it away from whom He pleases, the vivid flash of His lightning well-nigh blinds the sight.
PICKTHAL: Hast thou not seen how Allah wafteth the clouds, then gathereth them, then maketh them layers, and thou seest the rain come forth from between them; He sendeth down from the heaven mountains wherein is hail, and smiteth therewith whom He will, and averteth it from whom He will. The flashing of His lightning all but snatcheth away the sight.
SHAKIR: Do you not see that Allah drives along the clouds, then gathers them together, then piles them up, so that you see the rain coming forth from their midst? And He sends down of the clouds that are (like) mountains wherein is hail, afflicting therewith whom He pleases and turning it away from whom He pleases; the flash of His lightning almost takes away the sight.
KHALIFA: Do you not realize that GOD drives the clouds, then gathers them together, then piles them on each other, then you see the rain coming out of them? He sends down from the sky loads of snow to cover whomever He wills, while diverting it from whomever He wills. The brightness of the snow almost blinds the eyes.
৪৩। তুমি কি দেখ না যে, আল্লাহ্ মেঘ মালাকে মৃদুমন্দ ভাবে চালিত করেন, তারপর তাদের একসাথে সংযুক্ত করেন, তারপরে তাদের স্তুপাকার করেন ? তারপর তুমি দেখবে তার মধ্য থেকে বৃষ্টিধারা নির্গত হতে ৩০১৯। এবং তিনি আকাশ থেকে পর্বত প্রমাণ [মেঘকে ] প্রেরণ করেন যার মধ্যে থাকে শিলা। এর দ্বারা তিনি যাকে খুশী আঘাত করেন এবং যাকে ইচ্ছা তার উপর থেকে ইহা অন্য দিকে ফিরিয়ে নেন। মেঘের বিদ্যুৎ ঝলক দৃষ্টিশক্তি প্রায় কেড়ে নেয়।
৩০১৯। প্রকৃতিকে যারা ভালোবাসে তাদের শিল্পীমন এই আয়াতের মেঘের বর্ণনায় মুগ্ধ হতে বাধ্য। প্রথমে নীল আকাশে ছেড়া হাল্কা মেঘের আনাগোনা লক্ষ্য করা যায়। এই হাল্কা মেঘপুঞ্জ একত্রিত হয়ে মেঘ স্তুপে পরিণত হয় যা পরবর্তীতে বৃষ্টিরূপে ধরণীতে আপতিত হয়। আবার এই ঘন কালো পুঞ্জীভূত মেঘের থেকে শিলা নির্গত হয় শিলা বৃষ্টিরূপে। বৃষ্টি ও শিলা বৃষ্টির উৎপত্তি একই মেঘ, তবুও তাদের মধ্যে কতই না পার্থক্য বিরাজমান। শিলাবৃষ্টি উৎপন্নকারী মেঘকে “পর্বত” হিসাবে এখানে আখ্যায়িত করা হয়েছে। বর্ণনার দিক থেকে তা যথার্থ কারণ এই মেঘ পর্বতের ন্যায় শিলাকে ধারণ করে। “এর দ্বারা তিনি যাকে ইচ্ছা আঘাত করেন। ” এই লাইনটিকে এ ভাবে ব্যাখা করা যায়। এই শিলাবৃষ্টি সব সময়েই কোন নির্দ্দিষ্ট অবস্থানে ঘটে থাকে, এবং অন্যান্য স্থান শিলাবৃষ্টি মুক্ত থাকে। মেঘের বিদ্যুৎ চমক ও বজ্রের ধ্বনি কানে তালা লাগে। প্রকৃতির সৌন্দর্য্য ও এর কার্যকলাপ হচ্ছে বিশ্ব স্রষ্টার নিজস্ব লিপিতে লেখা বই – যে এই বই পাঠ করতে পারে সেই ধন্য, সেই তো এই আয়াতে মেঘের বর্ণনার মাঝে সৌন্দর্য্য খুঁজে পেতে সমর্থ, বিশ্ব প্রকৃতির মাঝে আল্লাহ্র মঙ্গলময় হাতের স্পর্শ অনুভবে সক্ষম।
