আমি এদের বিভিন্ন প্রকার লোককে পরীক্ষা করার জন্যে পার্থিবজীবনের সৌন্দর্য স্বরূপ ভোগ-বিলাসের যে উপকরণ দিয়েছি, আপনি সেই সব বস্তুর প্রতি দৃষ্টি নিক্ষেপ করবেন না। আপনার পালনকর্তার দেয়া রিযিক উৎকৃষ্ট ও অধিক স্থায়ী।
And strain not your eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to various groups of them (polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh), the splendour of the life of this world that We may test them thereby. But the provision (good reward in the Hereafter) of your Lord is better and more lasting.
وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ زَهْرَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنيَا لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ وَرِزْقُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى
Wala tamuddanna AAaynayka ila ma mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum zahrata alhayati alddunya linaftinahum feehi warizqu rabbika khayrun waabqa
YUSUFALI: Nor strain thine eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to parties of them, the splendour of the life of this world, through which We test them: but the provision of thy Lord is better and more enduring.
PICKTHAL: And strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoy, the flower of the life of the world, that We may try them thereby. The provision of thy Lord is better and more lasting.
SHAKIR: And do not stretch your eyes after that with which We have provided different classes of them, (of) the splendor of this world’s life, that We may thereby try them; and the sustenance (given) by your Lord is better and more abiding.
KHALIFA: And do not covet what we bestowed upon any other people. Such are temporary ornaments of this life, whereby we put them to the test. What your Lord provides for you is far better, and everlasting.
১৩১। পার্থিব জীবনের জাঁকজমক দ্বারা পরীক্ষার নিমিত্তে আমি বিভিন্ন শ্রেণীকে উপভোগের যে সব উপকরণ দিয়েছি তা আকাঙ্খা করে তোমার চক্ষুদ্বয়কে পীড়িত করো না। [ মনে রেখো] তোমার প্রভুর প্রদত্ত জীবনোপকরণ উৎকৃষ্ট ও অধিক স্থায়ী ২৬৫৬।
২৫৫৬। এই পৃথিবীতে সম্পদ ,বিত্ত , ক্ষমতা, মেধা, প্রতিভা প্রভৃতি যা পৃথিবীতে সাফল্যের মাপকাঠি রূপে পরিগণিত তা সকলের মধ্যে আল্লাহ্ সমভাবে বণ্টন করেন নাই। কারও বেশী থাকলে তাতে ঈর্ষান্বিত হতে নিষেধ করা হয়েছে। কারণ হিসেবে বলা হয়েছে , এসব আল্লাহ্ বান্দাকে দান করেন পৃথিবীতে তাকে পরীক্ষার জন্য। আল্লাহ্র বিশেষ নেয়ামতসমূহকে সে কিভাবে ব্যয় করেছে সে হিসাব তাকে দাখিল করতে হবে পরলোকে। আর এসব নেয়ামত ক্ষণস্থায়ী। পৃথিবীর ক্ষণস্থায়ী জীবন শেষে এই পৃথিবীর বিত্ত,সম্পদ, প্রভাব প্রতিপত্তি সব রেখে অনন্তলোকে যাত্রা করতে হয়। সুতারাং সবই ক্ষণস্থায়ী। অপর পক্ষে পরকালের সাফল্য হচ্ছে স্থায়ী সাফল্য। পৃথিবীর সাফল্য একদিন শেষ হয়ে যাবে, কিন্তু পরকালের সাফল্য হচ্ছে স্থায়ী সাফল্য, যা স্বয়ং আল্লাহ্ তাঁর অনুগত বান্দাকে দান করে থাকেন। পরলোকের সাফল্য হচ্ছে অমূল্য এবং যা অনন্তকাল ব্যপী স্থায়ী। সকলকেই আল্লাহ্ তাঁর কোন না কোন নেয়ামত সমূহ দ্বারা এই পৃথিবীতে ধন্য করে থাকেন। যে বান্দা সঠিক ভাবে সেই নেয়ামত ব্যয় করতে পারে সেই পূণ্যাত্মা – আর যে না পারে সে মহাকালের অতলগর্ভে নিক্ষিপ্ত হয়।
