তোমরা তোমাদের পালনকর্তার অভিমূখী হও এবং তাঁর আজ্ঞাবহ হও তোমাদের কাছে আযাব আসার পূর্বে। এরপর তোমরা সাহায্যপ্রাপ্ত হবে না;
“Turn ye to our Lord (in repentance) and bow to His (Will), before the Penalty comes on you: after that ye shall not be helped.
وَأَنِيبُوا إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ وَأَسْلِمُوا لَهُ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَكُمُ الْعَذَابُ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ
Waaneeboo ila rabbikum waaslimoo lahu min qabli an ya/tiyakumu alAAathabu thumma la tunsaroona
YUSUFALI: “Turn ye to our Lord (in repentance) and bow to His (Will), before the Penalty comes on you: after that ye shall not be helped.
PICKTHAL: Turn unto your Lord repentant, and surrender unto Him, before there come unto you the doom, when ye cannot be helped.
SHAKIR: And return to your Lord time after time and submit to Him before there comes to you the punishment, then you shall not be helped.
KHALIFA: You shall obey your Lord, and submit to Him totally, before the retribution overtakes you; then you cannot be helped.
৫৪। [ অনুতাপের মাধ্যমে ] তোমার প্রভুর দিকে মুখ ফিরাও, এবং পাপের শাস্তি আসার পূর্বেই তাঁর ইচ্ছার কাছে আত্মসমর্পন কর। এর পরে আর তোমাদের সাহায্য করা হবে না ৪৩২৫।
৪৩২৫। সংক্ষেপে যে পরামর্শের মাধ্যমে প্রেরণা দান করা হয়েছে তা এই : অনুতাপের মাধ্যমে আত্মসংশোধন কর। বেশী দেরী হলে সে সুযোগ নাও আসতে পারে। ” শাস্তি আসার পূর্বে ” অর্থাৎ শেষ বিচারের পূর্বে অর্থাৎ মৃত্যু এসে দুয়ারে হানা দেওয়ার পূর্বেই নিজেকে অনুতাপের মাধ্যমে সংশোধন করে নিতে হবে। কারণ এই নশ্বর দেহ ত্যাগের পরে পৃথিবীর কোনও কাজ করার ক্ষমতা অমর আত্মার থাকবে না। শুধু সঙ্গে থেকে যাবে ভালো বা মন্দ কাজের অভিজ্ঞতা। সুতারাং আল্লাহ্র সম্মুখে দাঁড়াবার পূর্বেই পৃথিবীর জীবনটাকে সৎকাজে ব্যয় করার পরামর্শ এখানে দেয়া হয়েছে।
