তোমাদেরকে যা কিছু দেয়া হয়েছে, তা পার্থিব জীবনের ভোগ ও শোভা বৈ নয়। আর আল্লাহর কাছে যা আছে, তা উত্তম ও স্থায়ী। তোমরা কি বোঝ না ?
And whatever you have been given is an enjoyment of the life of (this) world and its adornment, and that (Hereafter) which is with Allâh is better and will remain forever. Have you then no sense?
وَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتُهَا وَمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Wama ooteetum min shay-in famataAAu alhayati alddunya wazeenatuha wama AAinda Allahi khayrun waabqa afala taAAqiloona
YUSUFALI: The (material) things which ye are given are but the conveniences of this life and the glitter thereof; but that which is with Allah is better and more enduring: will ye not then be wise?
PICKTHAL: And whatsoever ye have been given is a comfort of the life of the world and an ornament thereof; and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting. Have ye then no sense?
SHAKIR: And whatever things you have been given are only a provision of this world’s life and its adornment, and whatever is with Allah is better and more lasting; do you not then understand?
KHALIFA: Everything that is given to you is only the material of this life, and its vanity. What is with GOD is far better, and everlasting. Do you not understand?
৬০। [ পার্থিব ] জিনিষ তোমাদের যা দেয়া হয়েছে তা তো পার্থিব জীবনের সুখ-স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য ও জাঁকজমক ৩৩৯১। কিন্তু আল্লাহ্র কাছে যা আছে তা উত্তম ও চিরস্থায়ী। তবুও কি তোমরা অনুধাবন করবে না ?
৩৩৯১। পার্থিব ভোগের জিনিষ জাগতিক আরাম আয়েশের জন্য। এই পার্থিব ধন-সম্পদ , আরাম আয়েস খুবই ক্ষণস্থায়ী। ক্ষণস্থায়ী জীবন শেষে মৃত্যুর সাথে সাথে তা শেষ হয়ে যাবে। কিন্তু আত্মার সাথে যা থাকবে তা মৃত্যুঞ্জয়ী। মৃত্যুকে অতিক্রম করে তা পরলোকেও স্থায়ী হবে। যে আত্মার মাঝে ইহলোকে ন্যায় ও সত্যের অনুধাবন ক্ষমতা আছে, সেই তো আল্লাহ্র কল্যাণময় স্পর্শের অনুভবে সমৃদ্ধ। আর এই অনুভব স্থায়ী। যে দিব্যজ্ঞানের অধিকারী সে কি কখনও স্থায়ী সত্যকে ত্যাগ করে অস্থায়ী বস্তুর জন্য ঘুরে বেড়াতে পারে? তবুও মানুষ জাগতিক বিষয় বস্তুর পিছনে সারাটা জীবন ঘুরে বেড়ায় সুখ-শান্তির অণ্বেষনে। কিন্তু তার সে ছুটে বেড়ানো হচেছ মরীচিকার পিছনে ঘুরে বেড়ানোর মত। কারণ জাগতিক বস্তু কখনও স্থায়ী সুখের ঠিকানা দিতে পারে না। স্থায়ী সুখের ঠিকানা একমাত্র আল্লাহ্ নির্দ্দেশিত পথে নিহিত।
