এতদসম্পর্কে যদি তোমাদের কোন সন্দেহ থাকে যা আমি আমার বান্দার প্রতি অবতীর্ণ করেছি, তাহলে এর মত একটি সূরা রচনা করে নিয়ে এস। তোমাদের সেসব সাহায্যকারীদেরকে সঙ্গে নাও-এক আল্লাহকে ছাড়া, যদি তোমরা সত্যবাদী হয়ে থাকো।
And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (i.e. the Qur’ân) to Our slave (Muhammad Peace be upon him ), then produce a Sûrah (chapter) of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allâh, if you are truthful.
وَإِن كُنتُمْ فِي رَيْبٍ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَى عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُواْ بِسُورَةٍ مِّن مِّثْلِهِ وَادْعُواْ شُهَدَاءكُم مِّن دُونِ اللّهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
Wa-in kuntum fee raybin mimma nazzalna AAala AAabdina fa/too bisooratin min mithlihi waodAAoo shuhadaakum min dooni Allahi in kuntum sadiqeena
YUSUFALI: And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true.
PICKTHAL: And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a surah of the like thereof, and call your witness beside Allah if ye are truthful.
SHAKIR: And if you are in doubt as to that which We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like it and call on your witnesses besides Allah if you are truthful.
KHALIFA: If you have any doubt regarding what we revealed to our servant, then produce one sura like these, and call upon your own witnesses against GOD, if you are truthful.
৪২। কুরআনের আয়াত যে আল্লাহ্র বাণী, তার প্রমাণ কি? আল্লাহ্ এখানে উপযুক্ত প্রমাণের উল্লেখ করেছেন। আল্লাহ্ আমাদের নবীর মাধ্যমে অনেক সূরা নাজিল করেছেন। আল্লাহ্ এখানে বলেছেন, ‘তোমরা কি অনুরূপ একটা সূরাও রচনা করতে পারবে?’ আল্লাহ্র বাণীর মানুষের সুপ্ত আধ্যাত্মিক শক্তিকে জাগরিত করার যে ক্ষমতা সে ক্ষমতা মানুষের তৈরি বাণীতে নাই। থাকা সম্ভবও নয়। মানুষ নিজের কূপমণ্ডুকতা, হঠকারীতা, বিবেকহীনতা, অজ্ঞনতার ফলে এসব কথা বলে যে, আল্লাহ্র বাণী মানুষের সৃষ্টি। কুরআন এক ঐশী গ্রন্থ। কুরআন যে আলোর ভূবন ও আধ্যাত্মিক জগতের সন্ধান দেয়, তার স্থায়িত্ব, অস্তিত্ব ও প্রভাব, যুগ, কাল অতিক্রান্ত।
