সুতরাং আমি তাদের চেয়ে অধিক শক্তি সম্পন্নদেরকে ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি। পূর্ববর্তীদের এ ঘটনা অতীত হয়ে গেছে।
Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them).
فَأَهْلَكْنَا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا وَمَضَى مَثَلُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
Faahlakna ashadda minhum batshan wamada mathalu al-awwaleena
YUSUFALI: So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old.
PICKTHAL: Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them).
SHAKIR: Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before,
KHALIFA: Consequently, we annihilated people who were even more powerful than these. We thus set the examples from the previous communities.
০৭। কিন্তু এমন কোন নবী তাদের নিকট আসে নাই যাকে তারা ঠাট্টা বিদ্রূপ করে নাই।
০৮। সুতারাং [ তাদের ] আমি ধ্বংস করেছিলাম – যারা ক্ষমতায় ইহাদের থেকেও শক্তিশালী ছিলো। আর [ এভাবেই ] চলে এসেছে পূর্ববর্তীদের অনুরূপ দৃষ্টান্ত৪৬০৯।
৪৬০৯। যুগে যুগে আল্লাহ্র বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করার শাস্তি হচ্ছে তাদের পতন। রাসুলের (সা ) সমসাময়িক আরব মোশরেকদের এই আয়াতের মাধ্যমে সাবধান করা হয়েছে যে, পূর্ববর্তী জাতিসমূহ যাদের ধ্বংস করা হয়েছে , তারা ধনে-সম্পদে, শক্তিতে শৌর্যে বীর্যে আরবদের তুলনায় বহুগুণ শক্তিশালী ছিলো। কিন্তু আল্লাহ্র আইন অস্বীকার করার দরুণ তাদের ভাগ্যেও ধ্বংস নেমে এসেছিলো। অতীতের বিদ্রোহী জনগোষ্ঠি বর্তমান ও ভবিষ্যতের সাক্ষী হিসেবে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে।
