اصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُودَ ذَا الْأَيْدِ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Isbir AAala ma yaqooloona waothkur AAabdana dawooda tha al-aydi innahu awwabun
YUSUFALI: Have patience at what they say, and remember our servant David, the man of strength: for he ever turned (to Allah).
PICKTHAL: Bear with what they say, and remember Our bondman David, lord of might, Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah).
SHAKIR: Bear patiently what they say, and remember Our servant Dawood, the possessor of power; surely he was frequent m returning (to Allah).
KHALIFA: Be patient in the face of their utterances, and remember our servant David, the resourceful; he was obedient.
১৭। তারা যা বলে তুমি তাতে ধৈর্য ধর , এবং স্মরণ কর আমার বান্দা দাউদের কথা যে ছিলো শক্তিশালী এবং সর্বদা [আল্লাহ্র ] অভিমুখী ৪১৬৭।
৪১৬৭। দাউদ নবী ছিলেন স্বাভাবিক মানুষের থেকেও বিরল শক্তির অধিকারী। তিনি যখন ছিলেন অনভিজ্ঞ যুবক মাত্র তখনই তিনি গোলিয়াথ নামক দৈত্যকে হত্যা করেন। দেখুন [ ২ : ২৪৯ – ২৫২ ] এবং টিকা ২৮৬ – ৮৭। গোলিয়াথের সাথে যুদ্ধের পূর্বে তাঁর শক্তি সম্বন্ধে তাঁর শত্রুরা হাসাহাসি করেছিলো ; এমনকি তাঁর বড় ভাই তাকে যুদ্ধের ইচ্ছা প্রকাশের জন্য ভৎর্সনা করেছিলো। কিন্তু কোনও কিছুই দাউদ নবীকে আল্লাহ্র উপরে একান্ত নির্ভরশীলতা ও বিশ্বাস থেকে টলাতে পারে নাই। তিনি আল্লাহ্র উপরে গভীর বিশ্বাসের সাথে গোলিয়াথের সাথে যুদ্ধ করে জয়লাভ করেন এবং পরবর্তীতে দেশের রাজা হন।
