মুমিনদের মধ্যে কতক আল্লাহর সাথে কৃত ওয়াদা পূর্ণ করেছে। তাদের কেউ কেউ মৃত্যুবরণ করেছে এবং কেউ কেউ প্রতীক্ষা করছে। তারা তাদের সংকল্প মোটেই পরিবর্তন করেনি।
Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allâh [i.e. they have gone out for Jihâd (holy fighting), and showed not their backs to the disbelievers], of them some have fulfilled their obligations (i.e. have been martyred), and some of them are still waiting, but they have never changed [i.e.they never proved treacherous to their covenant which they concluded with Allâh] in the least.
مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا
Mina almu/mineena rijalun sadaqoo ma AAahadoo Allaha AAalayhi faminhum man qada nahbahu waminhum man yantathiru wama baddaloo tabdeelan
YUSUFALI: Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah: of them some have completed their vow (to the extreme), and some (still) wait: but they have never changed (their determination) in the least:
PICKTHAL: Of the believers are men who are true to that which they covenanted with Allah. Some of them have paid their vow by death (in battle), and some of them still are waiting; and they have not altered in the least;
SHAKIR: Of the believers are men who are true to the covenant which they made with Allah: so of them is he who accomplished his vow, and of them is he who yet waits, and they have not changed in the least
KHALIFA: Among the believers there are people who fulfill their pledges with GOD. Some of them died, while others stand ready, never wavering.
২৩। বিশ্বাসীদের মধ্যে অনেকে আছে যারা আল্লাহ্র সাথে অঙ্গীকার পালনে সত্যবদ্ধ। তাদের মধ্যে কেহ কেহ তাদের প্রতিজ্ঞা পূর্ণ করেছে [ শেষ সীমা পর্যন্ত ] ৩৬৯৭ ; এবং কেহ কেহ প্রতীক্ষায় আছে। কিন্তু তারা কখনও [ তাদের সংকল্পের ] এতটুকুও পরিবর্তন করে না।
৩৬৯৭। সত্য ও ন্যায়ের সংগ্রামে যারা অংশীদার , তাঁরা তাঁদের অর্থ সম্পদ , মেধা মননশক্তি, জ্ঞান , সহায় সম্পদ, প্রভাব-প্রতিপত্তি এমন কি জীবন দান করতেও কুণ্ঠাবোধ করেন না। তারা সত্যের জন্য, ন্যায়ের সংগ্রামে কখনও বিচলিত বা প্রকম্পিত হন না। যদি তারা মৃত্যু বরণ করেন তবে তা তাদের জন্য শাহাদাতের সম্মান বহন করে আনে। সাদ্-ইবনে- মু’আজ ; যিনি অউস গোত্রের প্রধান ছিলেন, পরিখার যুদ্ধে শাহাদাৎ বরণ করে বিশ্বমানবের মাঝে স্মরণীয় হয়ে আছেন। তিনি ছিলেন ইসলামের একজন নির্ভিক সৈনিক। তিনি পরিখার যুদ্ধে আহত হন এবং পরে মৃত্যু বরণ করেন। সত্য ও ন্যায়ের সংগ্রামীরা হয় মৃত্যুকে আলিঙ্গন করেন অথবা সংগ্রামের জন্য তারা সদা সর্বদা মৃত্যুর জন্য প্রস্তুত থাকেন। উভয় দল সত্য ও ন্যায়ের সমর্থনে অবিচল, শঙ্কাহীন, নির্ভয়। তারা কখনও বিচলিত হন না। সত্য ও ন্যায়ের সংগ্রামীদের বৈশিষ্ট্যকে এই আয়াতে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে।
