তারা আপনাকে আযাব ত্বরান্বিত করতে বলে। যদি আযাবের সময় নির্ধারিত না থাকত, তবে আযাব তাদের উপর এসে যেত। নিশ্চয়ই আকস্মিকভাবে তাদের কাছে আযাব এসে যাবে, তাদের খবরও থাকবে না।
And they ask you to hasten on the torment (for them), and had it not been for a term appointed, the torment would certainly have come to them. And surely, it will come upon them suddenly while they perceive not!
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ وَلَوْلَا أَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى لَجَاءهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walawla ajalun musamman lajaahumu alAAathabu walaya/tiyannahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona
YUSUFALI: They ask thee to hasten on the Punishment (for them): had it not been for a term (of respite) appointed, the Punishment would certainly have come to them: and it will certainly reach them,- of a sudden, while they perceive not!
PICKTHAL: They bid thee hasten on the doom (of Allah). And if a term had not been appointed, the doom would assuredly have come unto them (ere now). And verily it will come upon them suddenly when they perceive not.
SHAKIR: And they ask you to hasten on the chastisement; and had not a term been appointed, the chastisement would certainly have come to them; and most certainly it will come to them all of a sudden while they will not perceive.
KHALIFA: They challenge you to bring the retribution! If it were not for a predetermined appointment, the retribution would have come to them immediately. Certainly, it will come to them suddenly, when they least expect it.
৫৩। তারা তোমাকে [তাদের জন্য ] শাস্তিকে ত্বরাণ্বিত করতে বলে যদি নির্ধারিত কাল [ অবকাশ ] না থাকতো , তবে ৩৪৮৫ শাস্তি তাদের উপরে অবশ্যই আসতো। তারা কিছু উপলব্ধি করার আগেই , উহাদের উপরে আকস্মিক ভাবে অবশ্যই শাস্তি এসে পড়বে।
৩৪৮৫। দেখুন আয়াত [ ২২ : ৪৭ ] এবং টিকা ২৮২৬। অবিশ্বাসীরা ব্যঙ্গ-বিদ্রূপ করে আল্লাহকে প্রতিদ্বন্দিতায় আহ্বান করে যে, ” যদি পার তবে আল্লাহ্র শাস্তিকে ত্বরান্বিত কর, আমরা দেখি।” কিন্তু এসব মূর্খদের প্রতিদ্বন্দিতায় আল্লাহ্ তাঁর পরিকল্পনার পরিবর্তন করতে পারেন না। পৃথিবী সৃষ্টির আদি লগ্ন থেকে আল্লাহ্র সমস্ত সৃষ্টি এক নির্দ্দিষ্ট উদ্দেশ্যের প্রতি ধাবিত হচ্ছে। আল্লাহ্র এই পরিকল্পনায় প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্রেই এক “নির্ধারিত কাল” মঞ্জুর করা হয়েছে। অবিশ্বাসীদের ব্যঙ্গ-বিদ্রূপে আল্লাহ্ তাঁর পরিবর্তন করেন না। বরং এটা তাঁর দয়া ও অনুগ্রহ যে, তিনি পাপীদের অবকাশ দেন, অনুতাপের মাধ্যমে আত্মসংশোধনের। যদি তারা অনুতপ্ত হয়ে আত্ম সংশোধন না করে , তবে তাদের শেষ পরিণতি হবে ধ্বংস। তাদের উপরে আপতিত এই শাস্তি আসবে, ‘হঠাৎ করে’ , তারা কিছু বুঝে ওঠার পূর্বেই। সে সময়ে আর অনুতাপ করার সময় থাকবে না।
