আল্লাহ যেসব গৃহকে মর্যাদায় উন্নীত করার এবং সেগুলোতে তাঁর নাম উচ্চারণ করার আদেশ দিয়েছেন, সেখানে সকাল ও সন্ধ্যায় তাঁর পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করে;
In houses (mosques), which Allâh has ordered to be raised (to be cleaned, and to be honoured), in them His Name is glorified in the mornings and in the afternoons or the evenings,
فِي بُيُوتٍ أَذِنَ اللَّهُ أَن تُرْفَعَ وَيُذْكَرَ فِيهَا اسْمُهُ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ فِيهَا بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْآصَالِ
Fee buyootin athina Allahu an turfaAAa wayuthkara feeha ismuhu yusabbihu lahu feeha bialghuduwwi waal-asali
YUSUFALI: (Lit is such a Light) in houses, which Allah hath permitted to be raised to honour; for the celebration, in them, of His name: In them is He glorified in the mornings and in the evenings, (again and again),-
PICKTHAL: (This lamp is found) in houses which Allah hath allowed to be exalted and that His name shall be remembered therein. Therein do offer praise to Him at morn and evening.
SHAKIR: In houses which Allah has permitted to be exalted and that His name may be remembered in them; there glorify Him therein in the mornings and the evenings,
KHALIFA: (God’s guidance is found) in houses exalted by GOD, for His name is commemorated therein. Glorifying Him therein, day and night –
৩৬। [ এরূপ আলো জ্বলে ] ৩০০৪, সেই সকল ঘরের মধ্যে যা আল্লাহ্র হুকুমে উচ্চ সম্মান পেয়েছে ৩০০৫, এবং যাতে আল্লাহ্র নাম স্মরণ হয়ে থাকে – সকালে ও সন্ধ্যায়, [ পুণঃ পুণ : ] তাঁর মহিমা ঘোষণা করতে থাকে ৩০০৬;-
৩০০৪। সেই সকল গৃহ অর্থাৎ মসজিদ ও উপসনালয়।
৩০০৫। যেখানে আল্লাহ্র এবাদত করা হয় – অনেকে একে মনে করেন সকল মসজিদ ও স্থান যেখানে আল্লাহ্র এবাদত করা হয়, তবে অনেক ব্যাখ্যাকারীর মতে এই আয়াত দ্বারা শুধুমাত্র কাবা শরীফকে অথবা মদীনার মসজিদ অথবা জেরুজালেমের মসজিদকে বোঝানো হয়েছে। এই মসজিদসমূহকে বিশেষ সম্মানের সাথে বিবেচনা করা হয়।
৩০০৬। “Asil” আরবী শব্দটি বহুবচনে ব্যবহৃত। “সকাল-সন্ধ্যায়” বাক্যটি বাগ্ধারা বিশেষ যার দ্বারা বহুবচনের প্রকাশ ঘটেছে অর্থাৎ পুণঃ পুণঃ আল্লাহ্র নাম যেখানে স্মরণ করা হয়।
