And mention in the Book (the Qur’ân) Ismâ’il (Ishmael). Verily! He was true to what he promised, and he was a Messenger, (and) a Prophet.
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صَادِقَ الْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا
Waothkur fee alkitabi ismaAAeela innahu kana sadiqa alwaAAdi wakana rasoolan nabiyyan
YUSUFALI: Also mention in the Book (the story of) Isma’il: He was (strictly) true to what he promised, and he was a messenger (and) a prophet.
PICKTHAL: And make mention in the Scripture of Ishmael. Lo! he was a keeper of his promise, and he was a messenger (of Allah), a prophet.
SHAKIR: And mention Ismail in the Book; surely he was truthful in (his) promise, and he was a messenger, a prophet.
KHALIFA: And mention in the scripture Ismail. He was truthful when he made a promise, and he was a messenger prophet.
৫৪। কিতাবে ইস্মাঈলের [ কাহিনীও ] উল্লেখ আছে। সে তাঁর প্রতিশ্রুতি পালনে ছিলো [ কঠোর ] সত্যাশ্রয়ী ২৫০৬। এবং সে ছিলো রাসুল ও নবী।
২৫০৬। হযরত ইসমাঈল ছিলেন ‘Az-zabih’ বা আল্লাহ্র জন্য উৎসর্গ করা বলি। যখন হযরত ইব্রাহীমকে বলা হলো তাঁকে উৎসর্গ বা কোরবাণী দেবার জন্য, ইসমাঈল স্বতঃস্ফুর্তভাবে আত্মোৎসর্গ করেন, এবং শেষ পর্যন্ত তিনি তাঁর প্রতিজ্ঞায় অটল ছিলেন। ভয় পেয়ে পিছিয়ে আসেন নাই। অবশ্য শেষ পর্যন্ত আল্লাহ্র হুকুমে ইসমাঈলের পরিবর্তে ভেড়া কোরবাণী হয়ে যায়। তিনি ছিলেন আরব সম্প্রদায়ের আদি উৎস পুরুষ। তারই পরবর্তী বংশধরের মধ্যে জন্ম গ্রহণ করেন আল্লাহ্র রাসুল নবী করিম হযরত মুহম্মদ (সা)। ইসলামিক উম্মত এবং কিতাব হযরত ইসমাঈলের নবুয়ত্বের ধারাবাহিকতার ফসল। তিনি ছিলেন ” রাসুল, নবী “।
