এটা ছিল কুফরের কারণে তাদের প্রতি আমার শাস্তি। আমি অকৃতজ্ঞ ব্যতীত কাউকে শাস্তি দেই না।
Like this We requited them because they were ungrateful disbelievers. And never do We requit in such a way except those who are ungrateful, (disbelievers).
ذَلِكَ جَزَيْنَاهُم بِمَا كَفَرُوا وَهَلْ نُجَازِي إِلَّا الْكَفُورَ
Thalika jazaynahum bima kafaroo wahal nujazee illa alkafoora
YUSUFALI: That was the Requital We gave them because they ungratefully rejected Faith: and never do We give (such) requital except to such as are ungrateful rejecters.
PICKTHAL: This We awarded them because of their ingratitude. Punish We ever any save the ingrates?
SHAKIR: This We requited them with because they disbelieved; and We do not punish any but the ungrateful.
KHALIFA: We thus requited them for their disbelief. Do we not requite only the disbelievers?
১৭। আমি তাদের এই প্রতিদান দিয়েছিলাম , কারণ তারা অকৃতজ্ঞভাবে ঈমানকে প্রত্যাখান করেছিলো ৩৮১৫। অকৃতজ্ঞ প্রত্যাখানকারী ব্যতীত আমি [ এরূপ ] প্রতিদান কখনও দেই না।
৩৭১৫। ‘Kafur’ কুফরীর সর্বোচ্চ অবস্থা। যারা সর্বদা ইচ্ছাকৃত ভাবে আল্লাহকে অস্বীকার করে এবং তাঁর দেয়া অনুগ্রহকে সনাক্ত করে তাঁর জন্য কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশের পরিবর্তে কৃতঘ্ন হয় – তাদের জন্য এই শব্দটি। এসব লোকেরা সর্বদা নিজেদের পাপে নিমগ্ন রাখে।
