অতএব, আপনি সবর করুন, যেমন উচ্চ সাহসী পয়গম্বরগণ সবর করেছেন এবং ওদের বিষয়ে তড়িঘড়ি করবেন না। ওদেরকে যে বিষয়ে ওয়াদা দেয়া হত, তা যেদিন তারা প্রত্যক্ষ করবে, সেদিন তাদের মনে হবে যেন তারা দিনের এক মুহুর্তের বেশী পৃথিবীতে অবস্থান করেনি। এটা সুস্পষ্ট অবগতি। এখন তারাই ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্ত হবে, যারা পাপাচারী সম্প্রদায়।
Therefore be patient (O Muhammad SAW) as did the Messengers of strong will and be in no haste about them (disbelievers). On the Day when they will see that (torment) with which they are promised (i.e. threatened, it will be) as if they had not stayed more than an hour in a single day. (O mankind! This Qur’ân is sufficient as) a clear Message (or proclamation to save yourself from destruction). But shall any be destroyed except the people who are Al-Fâsiqûn (the rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).
فَاصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُوْلُوا الْعَزْمِ مِنَ الرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسْتَعْجِل لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّن نَّهَارٍ بَلَاغٌ فَهَلْ يُهْلَكُ إِلَّا الْقَوْمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
Faisbir kama sabara oloo alAAazmi mina alrrusuli wala tastaAAjil lahum kaannahum yawma yarawna ma yooAAadoona lam yalbathoo illa saAAatan min naharin balaghun fahal yuhlaku illa alqawmu alfasiqoona
YUSUFALI: Therefore patiently persevere, as did (all) messengers of inflexible purpose; and be in no haste about the (Unbelievers). On the Day that they see the (Punishment) promised them, (it will be) as if they had not tarried more than an hour in a single day. (Thine but) to proclaim the Message: but shall any be destroyed except those who transgress?
PICKTHAL: Then have patience (O Muhammad) even as the stout of heart among the messengers (of old) had patience, and seek not to hasten on (the doom) for them. On the day when they see that which they are promised (it will seem to them) as though they had tarried but an hour of daylight. A clear message. Shall any be destroyed save evil-living folk?
SHAKIR: Therefore bear up patiently as did the messengers endowed with constancy bear up with patience and do not seek to hasten for them (their doom). On the day that they shall see what they are promised they shall be as if they had not tarried save an hour of the day. A sufficient exposition! Shall then any be destroyed save the transgressing people?
KHALIFA: Therefore, be patient like the messengers before you who possessed strength and resorted to patience. Do not be in a hurry to see the retribution that will inevitably come to them. The day they see it, it will seem as if they lasted one hour of the day. This is a proclamation: Is it not the wicked who are consistently annihilated?
৩৫। সুতারাং তুমি ধৈর্য্যের সাথে অধ্যাবসায়ী হও, যেরূপ [ অন্যসব ] রাসুলেরা উদ্দেশ্যের প্রতি ছিলেন অনমনীয়; এবং [ অবিশ্বাসীদের ] ব্যাপারে তাড়াহুড়া করো না। সেদিন যখন তারা প্রতিশ্রুত [ শাস্তিকে ] প্রত্যক্ষ করবে, [ তাদের মনে হবে ], ওরা যেনো দিনের একদন্ডের বেশী পৃথিবীতে অবস্থান করে নাই ৪৮১৫। আল্লাহ্র বাণী ঘোষণাই [ তোমার কাজ ] ৪৮১৬। সীমালংঘণকারী ব্যতীত আর কেহ কি ধ্বংস প্রাপ্ত হবে?
৪৮১৫। এ কথা বারে বারে বলা হয়েছে যে, পৃথিবীতে কোনও সৎকাজই হারিয়ে যাবে না। তবে অনেক সময়ে তা বহু বাঁধার সম্মুখীন হয় এবং প্রতিষ্ঠিত হতে সময়ের প্রয়োজন হয়। রসুলকে [ সা ] সম্বোধনের মাধ্যমে এই সত্যকেই বিশ্বজনীন করা হয়েছে। এখানে বলা হয়েছে প্রকৃত সত্য প্রতিষ্ঠিত হতে সময়ের প্রয়োজন হতে পারে। সুতারাং মোমেন বান্দারা যেনো অধৈর্য না হয়ে ধৈর্য ধারণ করে। সৎ কাজের সাফল্য অবশ্যাম্ভাবী এবং যারা সৎকাজে বাধা দান করে তাদের শাস্তিও সেরূপ অবশ্যাম্ভবী। এই অবশ্যাম্ভবী শাস্তিকে “প্রতিশ্রুত শাস্তি”- বাক্যটি দ্বারা উপস্থাপন করা হয়েছে। এই শাস্তি তাদের উপরে এমন হঠাৎ আসবে যে, তাদের মনে হবে যেন,তারা পৃথিবীতে একদিন বা একদন্ডের বেশী অবস্থান করে নাই। এখানে সময়ের আপেক্ষিক তত্বকে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। পৃথিবীতে জীবনের সময়ের পরিক্রমা এক বিশেষ ভূমিকা পালন করে থাকে। সময়ের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এই ধারণা পরলোকের অনন্ত সময়ের ধারণার প্রেক্ষিতে বলবৎ থাকবে না। এখানে সময়ের ধারণার আপেক্ষিক তত্বকেই তুলে ধরা হয়েছে।
৪৮১৬। আল্লাহ্ রাসুলের [ সা ] মাধ্যমে যে বিশ্বজনীন ঘোষণা করেছেন, তা সর্বকালে, সর্বযুগের মানুষের জন্য প্রযোজ্য। আল্লাহ্ প্রেরিত সত্য জীবন বিধানই হচ্ছে আল্লাহ্ প্রেরিত সত্য। যদি কেউ এই সত্যকে বাধা দান করে তাদেরই বলা হয়েছে সত্যত্যাগী সম্প্রদায়। এরাই হচ্ছে আল্লাহ্র সত্যের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহী বা সীমালঙ্ঘনকারী। এদের ধ্বংস অনিবার্য। এখানে উল্লেখযোগ্য যে, আল্লাহ্ প্রেরিত জীবন বিধান বা সত্য, সর্বদা ন্যায় ও সত্যের উপরে প্রতিষ্ঠিত। মানুষের কল্যাণের জন্য প্রতিষ্ঠিত। সুতারাং এই ন্যায় ও সত্যকে ধর্মীয় আনুষ্ঠানিকতার সাথে এক করে দেখার অবকাশ নাই। আনুষ্ঠানিকতা ধর্ম নয় – প্রকৃত ধর্ম হচ্ছে সত্য ও ন্যায়। সীমালঙ্ঘনকারীরা তাদের কৃতকর্মের দরুণই ধ্বংস হয়ে যাবে।
