আর তোমরা সে গ্রন্থের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন কর, যা আমি অবতীর্ণ করেছি সত্যবক্তা হিসেবে তোমাদের কাছে। বস্তুতঃ তোমরা তার প্রাথমিক অস্বীকারকারী হয়ো না আর আমার আয়াতের অল্প মূল্য দিও না। এবং আমার (আযাব) থেকে বাঁচ।
And believe in what I have sent down (this Qur’ân), confirming that which is with you, [the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], and be not the first to disbelieve therein, and buy [get (ÊÇÎÐ ÇÌÑÇ)] not with My Verses [the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] a small price (i.e. getting a small gain by selling My Verses), and fear Me and Me Alone. (Tafsir At-Tabarî, Vol. I, Page 253).
وَآمِنُواْ بِمَا أَنزَلْتُ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ وَلاَ تَكُونُواْ أَوَّلَ كَافِرٍ بِهِ وَلاَ تَشْتَرُواْ بِآيَاتِي ثَمَناً قَلِيلاً وَإِيَّايَ فَاتَّقُونِ
Waaminoo bima anzaltu musaddiqan lima maAAakum wala takoonoo awwala kafirin bihi wala tashtaroo bi-ayatee thamanan qaleelan wa-iyyaya faittaqooni
YUSUFALI: And believe in what I reveal, confirming the revelation which is with you, and be not the first to reject Faith therein, nor sell My Signs for a small price; and fear Me, and Me alone.
PICKTHAL: And believe in that which I reveal, confirming that which ye possess already (of the Scripture), and be not first to disbelieve therein, and part not with My revelations for a trifling price, and keep your duty unto Me.
SHAKIR: And believe in what I have revealed, verifying that which is with you, and be not the first to deny it, neither take a mean price in exchange for My communications; and Me, Me alone should you fear.
KHALIFA: You shall believe in what I have revealed herein, confirming what you have; do not be the first to reject it. Do not trade away My revelations for a cheap price, and observe Me.
৫৯। ইহুদীরা পূর্বেই আল্লাহ্র বাণী লাভ করেছে হযরত মুসার মাধ্যমে। সেই বাণীর সমর্থক হিসেবে হযরত মুহম্মদ (দঃ) এর আবির্ভাব। সুতরাং হযরতের (দঃ) কাছে আল্লাহ্ যা নাজিল করেছেন তা ইহুদীদের পূর্ব পরিচিত হওয়ার কথা। তবু ইহুদীরাই প্রথম, যারা আল্লাহ্র বাণীর বিরুদ্ধাচরণ করেছে। নিজেদের ক্ষুদ্র স্বার্থ রক্ষার জন্যই তারা তা করে। কিন্তু আল্লাহ্র নির্দেশ তাদের ক্ষুদ্র বিচার-বিবেচনার অনেক উর্ধ্বে। আলোচ্য আয়াতে আল্লাহ্র আয়াতসমূহের বিনিময়ে মূল্য গ্রহণ নিষিদ্ধ হওয়ার অর্থ হলো-মানুষের মর্জি ও স্বার্থের তাগিদে আয়াতসমূহের মর্ম বিকৃত ও ভুলভাবে প্রকাশ করে কিংবা তা গোপন রেখে টাকা-পয়সা, অর্থ-সম্পদ গ্রহণ করা নিষিদ্ধ। এ কাজটি উম্মতের জন্য সর্বসম্মতিক্রমে হারাম। তাই সৎ কাজ ও নিজ কর্তব্য সম্বন্ধে নির্দেশ আল্লাহ্র কাছ থেকে নিতে হবে। অর্থাৎ কুরআন শরীফ পড়ে বুঝে সেই অনুযায়ী জীবন ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করতে হবে। কোনও পুরোহিত (পীর-ফকির-মাজার) বা অমনোনীত ফতোয়াবাজ বা সামাজিক রীতিনীতি বা সামাজিক সংস্কার এ সবের অনুগত হওয়া হারাম।
