রহমান-এর বান্দা তারাই, যারা পৃথিবীতে নম্রভাবে চলাফেরা করে এবং তাদের সাথে যখন মুর্খরা কথা বলতে থাকে, তখন তারা বলে, সালাম।
And the slaves of the Most Beneficent (Allâh) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness.
وَعِبَادُ الرَّحْمَنِ الَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ هَوْنًا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ الْجَاهِلُونَ قَالُوا سَلَامًا
WaAAibadu alrrahmani allatheena yamshoona AAala al-ardi hawnan wa-itha khatabahumu aljahiloona qaloo salaman
YUSUFALI: And the servants of (Allah) Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, “Peace!”;
PICKTHAL: The (faithful) slaves of the Beneficent are they who walk upon the earth modestly, and when the foolish ones address them answer: Peace;
SHAKIR: And the servants of the Beneficent Allah are they who walk on the earth in humbleness, and when the ignorant address them, they say: Peace.
KHALIFA: The worshipers of the Most Gracious are those who tread the earth gently, and when the ignorant speak to them, they only utter peace.
৬৩। পরম করুণাময় [আল্লাহ্র ] বান্দা তারাই , যারা পৃথিবীতে নম্র ভাবে চলাফেরা করে , এবং অজ্ঞ ব্যক্তিরা যখন তাদের সম্বোধন করে , তখন তারা বলে “সালাম” [ শান্তি ] ৩১২৩;
৩১২৩। ‘অজ্ঞ’ – এই আয়াতে অজ্ঞ শব্দটি ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে তাদের সম্বন্ধে যারা আধ্যাত্মিক জ্ঞানে বঞ্চিত। “সম্বোধন ” শব্দটি এখানে আক্রমণাত্মক ভাব প্রকাশের জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। মোমেন বান্দারা বিনয়কে দুভাবে প্রকাশ করে থাকেন : ১) মোমেন বান্দা , যারা সত্যিকার ভাবে জ্ঞানের অনুসন্ধানে ব্যপৃত তারা তাদের সেই জ্ঞান দান করেন সকলকে, অবশ্য যোগ্যতা অনুযায়ী , যতটুকু তারা ধারণ করতে পারবে। এ ব্যাপারে তাঁদের কোনও অহমিকা নেই। ২) আর যারা অজ্ঞ, যারা শুধু কূটতর্কে ব্যপৃত থাকে, তাদের প্রতিও কোনও কর্কশ বাক্য প্রয়োগ নয়। তাদের জন্যও থাকবে শান্তির সম্ভাষণ। বাক্যগুলি এরূপ হতে পারে যথা : সম্ভবতঃ এই তোমাদের জন্য ভালো, ভবিষ্যতে তোমাদের অনুতাপ তোমাদের জন্য ভালো ফল বয়ে আনবে।” অথবা ” তোমাদের এই সব বাহাস ও কূটর্তক থেকে আল্লাহ্ আমাকে শান্তি দিন” , অথবা ” শান্তি এবং বিদায় ” ইত্যাদি।
