আর স্মরণ কর, যখন ইব্রাহীম বলল, হে আমার পালনকর্তা আমাকে দেখাও, কেমন করে তুমি মৃতকে জীবিত করবে। বললেন; তুমি কি বিশ্বাস কর না? বলল, অবশ্যই বিশ্বাস করি, কিন্তু দেখতে এজন্যে চাইছি যাতে অন্তরে প্রশান্তি লাভ করতে পারি। বললেন, তাহলে চারটি পাখী ধরে নাও। পরে সেগুলোকে নিজের পোষ মানিয়ে নাও, অতঃপর সেগুলোর দেহের একেকটি অংশ বিভিন্ন পাহাড়ের উপর রেখে দাও। তারপর সেগুলোকে ডাক; তোমার নিকট দৌড়ে চলে আসবে। আর জেনে রাখো, নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ পরাক্রমশালী, অতি জ্ঞান সম্পন্ন।
And (remember) when Ibrâhim (Abraham) said, ”My Lord! Show me how You give life to the dead.” He (Allâh) said: ”Do you not believe?” He [Ibrâhim (Abraham)] said: ”Yes (I believe), but to be stronger in Faith.” He said: ”Take four birds, then cause them to incline towards you (then slaughter them, cut them into pieces), and then put a portion of them on every hill, and call them, they will come to you in haste. And know that Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.”
وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ رَبِّ أَرِنِي كَيْفَ تُحْيِـي الْمَوْتَى قَالَ أَوَلَمْ تُؤْمِن قَالَ بَلَى وَلَـكِن لِّيَطْمَئِنَّ قَلْبِي قَالَ فَخُذْ أَرْبَعَةً مِّنَ الطَّيْرِ فَصُرْهُنَّ إِلَيْكَ ثُمَّ اجْعَلْ عَلَى كُلِّ جَبَلٍ مِّنْهُنَّ جُزْءًا ثُمَّ ادْعُهُنَّ يَأْتِينَكَ سَعْيًا وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
Wa-ith qala ibraheemu rabbi arinee kayfa tuhyee almawta qala awa lam tu/min qala bala walakin liyatma-inna qalbee qala fakhuth arbaAAatan mina alttayri fasurhunna ilayka thumma ijAAal AAala kulli jabalin minhunna juz-an thumma odAAuhunna ya/teenaka saAAyan waiAAlam anna Allaha AAazeezun hakeemun
YUSUFALI: When Abraham said: “Show me, Lord, how You will raise the dead, ” He replied: “Have you no faith?” He said “Yes, but just to reassure my heart.” Allah said, “Take four birds, draw them to you, and cut their bodies to pieces. Scatter them over the mountain-tops, then call them back. They will come swiftly to you. Know that Allah is Mighty, Wise.”
PICKTHAL: And when Abraham said (unto his Lord): My Lord! Show me how Thou givest life to the dead, He said: Dost thou not believe? Abraham said: Yea, but (I ask) in order that my heart may be at ease. (His Lord) said: Take four of the birds and cause them to incline unto thee, then place a part of them on each hill, then call them, they will come to thee in haste, and know that Allah is Mighty, Wise.
SHAKIR: And when Ibrahim said: My Lord! show me how Thou givest life to the dead, He said: What! and do you not believe? He said: Yes, but that my heart may be at ease. He said: Then take four of the birds, then train them to follow you, then place on every mountain a part of them, then call them, they will come to you flying; and know that Allah is Mighty, Wise.
KHALIFA: Abraham said, “My Lord, show me how You revive the dead.” He said, “Do you not believe?” He said, “Yes, but I wish to reassure my heart.” He said, “Take four birds, study their marks, place a piece of each bird on top of a hill, then call them to you. They will come to you in a hurry. You should know that GOD is Almighty, Most Wise.”
২৬০। স্মরণ কর ! ইব্রাহীম বলেছিলো, “হে আমার প্রভু ! আমাকে দেখাও কিভাবে তুমি মৃতকে জীবিত কর” ৩০৬। আল্লাহ্ বলেছিলেন, “তুমি কি তাহলে বিশ্বাস কর না ?” সে বলেছিলে, “হ্যাঁ করি, তবে ইহা কেবল আমার চিত্তের প্রশান্তির জন্য” ৩০৭। আল্লাহ্ বললেন, “[তাহলে] চারটি পাখী নাও এবং তোমার দিকে ফিরে আসার [শিক্ষা দিয়ে] তাদের পোষ মানাও। অতঃপর তাদের এক একটি অংশ এক এক পাহাড়ে স্থাপন কর ৩০৮ এবং তারপর তাদের ডাক দাও। তারা দ্রুতগতিতে তোমার কাছে [উড়ে] আসবে। জেনে রাখ শক্তিতে আল্লাহ্ পরাক্রমশালী এবং প্রজ্ঞাময়।”
৩০৬। আয়াতে [২ : ২৫৮] বলা হয়েছে যে আল্লাহ্ সর্বময় ক্ষমতার মালিক। মানুষের মিথ্যা দম্ভ ও অহংকার এক মূহুর্তে ধূলিস্মাৎ হতে পারে। আয়াতে [২ : ২৫৯] বলা হয়েছে আল্লাহ্ সময়ের সীমার উর্ধ্বে। ব্যক্তিগত, জাতিগত জীবনের উত্থান পতন, জীবন-মৃত্যু সবই আল্লাহ্র আইনের কর্তৃত্বাধীন। আমরা আমাদের ক্ষুদ্র বিচার-বুদ্ধি দ্বারা অনেক সময়ে ভুল করে বসি বা কৌতুহল বা সন্দেহ প্রকাশ করে থাকি। হযরত ইব্রাহীমের (আঃ) কৌতুহলের উত্তরে আল্লাহ্ দেখালেন যে, মৃত্যুকে জীবিত করা তাঁর জন্য কিছুই নয়।
৩০৭। হযরত ইব্রাহীম (আঃ) আল্লাহ্র উপরে এবং মৃত্যুর পরে পুনঃর্জীবন সম্পর্কে পরিপূর্ণ বিশ্বাসী; প্রশ্নটি ছিল শুধু মৃত্যুর পরে পুনর্জীবন লাভের যে স্বরূপ তা জানার কৌতুহল। পুনর্জীবন সম্পর্কে তাঁর মনে কোনরূপ সন্দেহ ছিল না।
৩০৮। ‘Juz-an’ : A portion of them: তফসীর কারকগণ বলেন যে, পাখীগুলিকে ছোট ছোট অংশে বিভক্ত করে বিভক্ত অংশগুলিকে পাহাড়ের উপর স্থাপন করা হয়েছিল। পাখীগুলিকে মারা বা টুকরো অংশে বিভক্ত করার কথা এখানে উল্লেখ নাই কিন্তু অধিকাংশ তফসীরকারগণের মতে টুকরো করা শব্দটি উহ্য আছে, কারণ যেহেতু মৃত পাখীকে জীবনদান প্রসঙ্গটি এখানে এই আয়াতে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।
