যদি তুমি আমাকে হত্যা করতে আমার দিকে হস্ত প্রসারিত কর, তবে আমি তোমাকে হত্যা করতে তোমার দিকে হস্ত প্রসারিত করব না। কেননা, আমি বিশ্বজগতের পালনকর্তা আল্লাহকে ভয় করি।
”If you do stretch your hand against me to kill me, I shall never stretch my hand against you to kill you, for I fear Allâh; the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns, and all that exists).”
لَئِن بَسَطتَ إِلَيَّ يَدَكَ لِتَقْتُلَنِي مَا أَنَاْ بِبَاسِطٍ يَدِيَ إِلَيْكَ لَأَقْتُلَكَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ اللّهَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ
La-in basatta ilayya yadaka litaqtulanee ma ana bibasitin yadiya ilayka li-aqtulaka innee akhafu Allaha rabba alAAalameena
YUSUFALI: “If thou dost stretch thy hand against me, to slay me, it is not for me to stretch my hand against thee to slay thee: for I do fear Allah, the cherisher of the worlds.
PICKTHAL: Even if thou stretch out thy hand against me to kill me, I shall not stretch out my hand against thee to kill thee, lo! I fear Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
SHAKIR: If you will stretch forth your hand towards me to slay me, I am not one to stretch forth my hand towards you to slay you surely I fear Allah, the Lord of the worlds:
KHALIFA: “If you extend your hand to kill me, I am not extending my hand to kill you. For I reverence GOD, Lord of the universe.
