অতঃপর তাদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হওয়া, যারা ঈমান আনে এবং পরস্পরকে উপদেশ দেয় সবরের ও উপদেশ দেয় দয়ার।
Then he became one of those who believed, and recommended one another to perseverance and patience, and (also) recommended one another to pity and compassion.
ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ
Thumma kana mina allatheena amanoo watawasaw bialssabri watawasaw bialmarhamati
YUSUFALI: Then will he be of those who believe, and enjoin patience, (constancy, and self-restraint), and enjoin deeds of kindness and compassion.
PICKTHAL: And to be of those who believe and exhort one another to perseverance and exhort one another to pity.
SHAKIR: Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show compassion.
KHALIFA: And being one of those who believe, and exhorting one another to be steadfast, and exhorting one another to be kind.
১৭। এরপরে সে সেই সব লোকের দলভূক্ত হতে পারে ৬১৪৪ যারা ঈমান আনে; এবং ধৈর্য্য [ দৃঢ়তা ও আত্ম সংযম ] এবং দয়া ও সহানুভূতির উপদেশ দেয়।
৬১৪৪। উপরের আয়াত সমূহে নিঃস্বার্থ ভালোবাসার যে বর্ণনা দান করা হয়েছে তা হচ্ছে ঈমানের এসিড পরীক্ষা। খাঁটি সোনা যেরূপ কষ্টিপাথরে ঘষে পরীক্ষা করা হয়, প্রকৃত সৎ কাজও সেরূপ ঈমানের এসিড পরীক্ষা যা চারিত্রিক গুণাবলী অর্জনের মাধ্যমে অর্জন করা যায়। বিশেষ চারিত্রিক গুণাবলীকে সারসংক্ষেপ করা হয়েছে নিম্নোক্ত ভাবে। ১) ধৈর্য বা সবর আরবীতে যার অর্থ ব্যপক [ সংযম, অধ্যাবসায় যার অর্ন্তভূক্ত দেখুন টিকা নং ৬১ ] ২) দয়া সহানুভূতি ও আন্তরিকতার সাথে কাউকে সাহায্য করার ইচ্ছা বা দয়া, শুধু মাত্র তাদের বিশ্বাসের আন্তরিকতাই বিচার করা হবে না ; তাদের কর্মের পরিণামও বিচার করা হবে।
