তোমাদের মধ্যে যারা তাদের স্ত্রীগণকে মাতা বলে ফেলে, তাদের স্ত্রীগণ তাদের মাতা নয়। তাদের মাতা কেবল তারাই, যারা তাদেরকে জন্মদান করেছে। তারা তো অসমীচীন ও ভিত্তিহীন কথাই বলে। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ মার্জনাকারী, ক্ষমাশীল।
Those among you who make their wives unlawful (Az-Zihâr ÇáÙåÇÑ) to them by saying to them ”You are like my mother’s back.” They cannot be their mothers. None can be their mothers except those who gave them birth. And verily, they utter an ill word and a lie. And verily, Allâh is Oft-Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving.
الَّذِينَ يُظَاهِرُونَ مِنكُم مِّن نِّسَائِهِم مَّا هُنَّ أُمَّهَاتِهِمْ إِنْ أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ إِلَّا اللَّائِي وَلَدْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَقُولُونَ مُنكَرًا مِّنَ الْقَوْلِ وَزُورًا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٌ
Allatheena yuthahiroona minkum min nisa-ihim ma hunna ommahatihim in ommahatuhum illa alla-ee waladnahum wa-innahum layaqooloona munkaran mina alqawli wazooran wa-inna Allaha laAAafuwwun ghafoorun
YUSUFALI: If any men among you divorce their wives by Zihar (calling them mothers), they cannot be their mothers: None can be their mothers except those who gave them birth. And in fact they use words (both) iniquitous and false: but truly Allah is one that blots out (sins), and forgives (again and again).
PICKTHAL: Such of you as put away your wives (by saying they are as their mothers) – They are not their mothers; none are their mothers except those who gave them birth – they indeed utter an ill word and a lie. And lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
SHAKIR: (As for) those of you who put away their wives by likening their backs to the backs of their mothers, they are not their mothers; their mothers are no others than those who gave them birth; and most surely they utter a hateful word and a falsehood and most surely Allah is Pardoning, Forgiving.
KHALIFA: Those among you who estrange their wives (by declaring them as forbidden in sex) as their mothers know full well that they are not their mothers. Their mothers are the women who gave birth to them. Indeed, they are committing a blasphemy and a falsehood. GOD is Pardoner, Forgiver.
২। যদি তোমাদের মধ্যে কেহ স্ত্রীদের জিহার ৫৩৩২ [আপন ময়ের সাথে তুলনা] করে পরিত্যাগ করে; তারা তাদের মাতা হতে পারে না ; তাদের যারা জন্ম দিয়েছে [প্রসব করেছে], তারা ব্যতীত। প্রকৃতপক্ষে তারা অন্যায় ও মিথ্যা শব্দ [উভয়ই] ব্যবহার করছে ৫৩৩৩। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ্ পাপ মোচনকারী ৫৩৩৪ এবং বারে বারে ক্ষমাশীল।

৫৩৩৩। “প্রকৃতপক্ষে তারা অন্যায় ও মিথ্যা শব্দ [উভয়ই] ব্যবহার করছে।” জিহারের প্রথা এবং যে কথা দ্বারা স্ত্রীকে ত্যাগ করা হয় সবই অন্যায় এবং অসত্য। এর দ্বারা স্ত্রী তালাক্ হয় না।
৫৩৩৪। দেখুন সূরা [ ৪ :৯৯ ] আয়াত এবং [ ২২ : ৬০ ] আয়াত। সাধারণ মানুষ কেহই ভুল ত্রুটির উর্দ্ধে নয়। মানুষের দুর্বলতা মনমানসিকতা, বিভিন্ন উদ্দেশ্য তাকে ভুলের পথে পরিচালিত করে। আল্লাহ্র অপার করুণা ও দয়া আমাদের এ সব ভুলের ও পাপের পরিণতি থেকে রক্ষা করে। ” আল্লাহ্ পাপ মোচনকারী ও ক্ষমাশীল।” – তা না হলে আমাদের গুনাহের পরিণামে আমাদের ধ্বংস ছিলো অনিবার্য। জীবনের সর্বক্ষেত্রেই আল্লাহ্ আমাদের জন্য পাপের প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করার সুযোগ রেখেছেন। কারণ সেই পরম করুণাময়ের একান্ত মঙ্গল ইচ্ছা হচ্ছে তাঁর বান্দাদের ভুল -ভ্রান্তি, দোষ-ত্রুটি দূর করা এবং তাঁর ক্ষমা দ্বারা আমাদের ত্রুটি বিচ্যুতি সংশোধন করার সুযোগ দান করা।
