যারা মুহাজিরদের আগমনের পূর্বে মদীনায় বসবাস করেছিল এবং বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছিল, তারা মুহাজিরদের ভালবাসে, মুহাজিরদেরকে যা দেয়া হয়েছে, তজ্জন্যে তারা অন্তরে ঈর্ষাপোষণ করে না এবং নিজেরা অভাবগ্রস্ত হলেও তাদেরকে অগ্রাধিকার দান করে। যারা মনের কার্পণ্য থেকে মুক্ত, তারাই সফলকাম।
And those who, before them, had homes (in Al-Madinah) and had adopted the Faith, love those who emigrate to them, and have no jealousy in their breasts for that which they have been given (from the booty of Banî An-Nadîr), and give them (emigrants) preference over themselves, even though they were in need of that. And whosoever is saved from his own covetousness, such are they who will be the successful.
وَالَّذِينَ تَبَوَّؤُوا الدَّارَ وَالْإِيمَانَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ يُحِبُّونَ مَنْ هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ فِي صُدُورِهِمْ حَاجَةً مِّمَّا أُوتُوا وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
Waallatheena tabawwaoo alddara waal-eemana min qablihim yuhibboona man hajara ilayhim wala yajidoona fee sudoorihim hajatan mimma ootoo wayu/thiroona AAala anfusihim walaw kana bihim khasasatun waman yooqa shuhha nafsihi faola-ika humu almuflihoona
YUSUFALI: But those who before them, had homes (in Medina) and had adopted the Faith,- show their affection to such as came to them for refuge, and entertain no desire in their hearts for things given to the (latter), but give them preference over themselves, even though poverty was their (own lot). And those saved from the covetousness of their own souls,- they are the ones that achieve prosperity.
PICKTHAL: Those who entered the city and the faith before them love those who flee unto them for refuge, and find in their breasts no need for that which hath been given them, but prefer (the fugitives) above themselves though poverty become their lot. And whoso is saved from his own avarice – such are they who are successful.
SHAKIR: And those who made their abode in the city and in the faith before them love those who have fled to them, and do not find in their hearts a need of what they are given, and prefer (them) before themselves though poverty may afflict them, and whoever is preserved from the niggardliness of his soul, these it is that are the successful ones.
KHALIFA: As for those who provided them with a home and a refuge, and were believers before them, they love those who immigrated to them, and find no hesitation in their hearts in helping them. In fact, they readily give them priority over themselves, even when they themselves need what they give away. Indeed, those who overcome their natural stinginess are the successful ones.
৯। কিন্তু মুহাজিরদের আগমনের পূর্বে এই [ মদিনা ] নগরীতে যারা বসবাস করতো [ এ সম্পদে তাদেরও অংশ রয়েছে ] ৫৩৮৩, তারা ঈমান এনেছে, তাদের নিকট যে মুহাজিররা এসেছে তাদের তারা ভালোবাসে, এবং মুহাজিরদের যা দেয়া হয়েছে তার জন্য তারা তাদের অন্তরে আকাঙ্খা পোষণ করে না; বরং দারিদ্রতা তাদের ভাগ্যলিখন হওয়া সত্বেও তারা নিজেদের উপর তাদের প্রাধান্য দেয়।এবং যারা নিজের আত্মাকে প্রলোভন থেকে রক্ষা করতে পেরেছে তারাই সফলকাম।
৫৩৮৩। যাদের কথা এই আয়াতে বলা হয়েছে, তারা হচ্ছেন মদিনাবাসী আন্সার [ সাহায্যকারী ]। মক্কাতে যখন মুসলমানদের উপরে অত্যাচার নির্যাতন চলছিলো , সে সময়ে মদিনার লোকেরা ইসলাম গ্রহণ করেন এবং রাসুলকে (সা) মদিনাতে এসে তাদের নেতৃত্ব গ্রহণের জন্য আহ্বান করেন। রাসুল (সা) এবং মক্কার অত্যাচারীত মুসলিমদের মদিনাতে হিজরত করা সম্ভব হয়েছিলো, মদিনাবাসীদের সদিচ্ছা, আন্তরিকতা ও আতিথেয়তার কারণে। মদিনাবাসীরা নবী ও মোহাজেরদের সাদরে গ্রহণ করেন এবং তাদের সাধ্যমত আদর যত্ন করেন। মোহাজের ও আনসারের মাঝে এক অপূর্ব ভাতৃবন্ধনের সৃষ্টি হয়। এবং যতদিন মদিনার মুসলিম উম্মা আত্মনির্ভরশীল হয়ে না ওঠে ততদিন আনসাররা মোহাজেরদের নিয়মিত সাহায্য করতেন। এ ব্যাপারে আনসারদের মনে কোন আত্মগরিমার স্থান ছিলো না। তারা এটাকে তাদের জন্য আল্লাহ্র বিশেষ অনুগ্রহ বলে বিবেচনা করতেন। এমন কি মদিনার গরীব আনসারটিও এ ব্যাপারে ধনীদের সাথে প্রতিযোগীতা করতেন। এই প্রতিযোগীতা অর্থ সম্পদের ছিলো না। ছিলো আত্মোৎসর্গের মহৎ উদ্দীপনার। বানু নাদের গোত্রের বিষয় সম্পত্তি বাজেয়াপ্ত করার পরে, তার অধিকাংশ যখন মোহাজেরদের মধ্যে বন্টন করা হয়, তখন মদিনার আনসারদের মধ্যে ক্ষীণতমও ঈর্ষা বোধ লক্ষ্য করা যায় নাই। বরং তারা তাদের মোহাজের ভাইদের সৌভাগ্যে আনন্দিত হন। প্রকৃত পক্ষে তারা মোহাজেরদের জন্য আনসারের দায়িত্ব থেকে মুক্ত হওয়ার ফলে স্বস্তির নিঃশ্বাস ফেলেন।
