তোমাদের স্ত্রীদের মধ্যে যদি কেউ হাতছাড়া হয়ে কাফেরদের কাছে থেকে যায়, অতঃপর তোমরা সুযোগ পাও, তখন যাদের স্ত্রী হাতছাড়া হয়ে গেছে, তাদেরকে তাদের ব্যয়কৃত অর্থের সমপরিমাণ অর্থ প্রদান কর এবং আল্লাহকে ভয় কর, যার প্রতি তোমরা বিশ্বাস রাখ।
And if any of your wives have gone from you to the disbelievers, and you have an accession (by the coming over of a woman from the other side), then pay to those whose wives have gone, the equivalent of what they had spent (on their Mahr). And fear Allâh in Whom you believe.
وَإِن فَاتَكُمْ شَيْءٌ مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ إِلَى الْكُفَّارِ فَعَاقَبْتُمْ فَآتُوا الَّذِينَ ذَهَبَتْ أَزْوَاجُهُم مِّثْلَ مَا أَنفَقُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي أَنتُم بِهِ مُؤْمِنُونَ
Wa-in fatakum shay-on min azwajikum ila alkuffari faAAaqabtum faatoo allatheena thahabat azwajuhum mithla ma anfaqoo waittaqoo Allaha allathee antum bihi mu/minoona
YUSUFALI: And if any of your wives deserts you to the Unbelievers, and ye have an accession (by the coming over of a woman from the other side), then pay to those whose wives have deserted the equivalent of what they had spent (on their dower). And fear Allah, in Whom ye believe.
PICKTHAL: And if any of your wives have gone from you unto the disbelievers and afterward ye have your turn (of triumph), then give unto those whose wives have gone the like of that which they have spent, and keep your duty to Allah in Whom ye are believers.
SHAKIR: And if anything (out of the dowries) of your wives has passed away from you to the unbelievers, then your turn comes, give to those whose wives have gone away the like of what they have spent, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah in Whom you believe.
KHALIFA: If any of your wives join the enemies’ camp, and you are forced to fight, you shall force the enemy to compensate the men who lost their wives, by giving them what they spent on their wives. You shall reverence GOD, in whom you believe.
১১। আর যদি তোমাদের স্ত্রীদের মধ্যে কেহ তোমাদের পরিত্যাগ করে অবিশ্বাসীদের নিকট চলে যায় ৫৪২৬, অতঃপর [ অন্য পক্ষ থেকে কোন মহিলার আগমনের ] যদি সুযোগ হয়, তবে যাদের স্ত্রীরা পরিত্যাগ করে চলে গেছে, [ অবিশ্বাসীদের প্রাপ্য থেকে ] তাদের [ মোহরে ] তারা যা ব্যয় করেছে, তার সমপরিমাণ অর্থ প্রদান করবে। তোমরা সেই আল্লাহকে ভয় কর, যার প্রতি তোমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছ।
৫৪২৬। মুসলমানদের স্ত্রী যদি কাফেরদের দিকে চলে যায়, তবে মুসলমান স্বামীদের মোহরানা ফেরত দেয়া কাফের জন্য ন্যায় কাজ। যেমন আল্লাহ্র বিধান হচ্ছে মুসলমানদের পক্ষ থেকে মুহাজির নারীদের কাফের স্বামীদের মোহরানা ফেরত দেয়া। কিন্তু কাফেররা মুসলমান স্বামীদের মোহরানা ফেরত দিত না, সেক্ষেত্রে যা করণীয় সেই নির্দ্দেশ দান করা হয়েছে এই আয়াতে। সেখানে বলা হয়েছে : “তোমাদের যদি সুযোগ আসে” – তবে তোমরা [মুসলমানেরা] প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ কর। তবে এই প্রতিশোধ হবে সমতার ভিত্তিতে। অর্থাৎ তোমরা মুহাজির নারীদের দেয়া আটককৃত মোহরানা থেকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত মুসলমান স্বামীদেরকে তাদের ব্যয়কৃত অর্থের পরিমাণ দিয়ে দাও, যাদের স্ত্রী কাফেরদের সাথে মিলিত হয়েছে, যদি উভয় পক্ষের মোহরানা এক হয়, তবে এই উভয় পক্ষের মোহরানা কাটাকাটি হয়ে যাবে। যদি মোহরানার পরিমাণ অসম হয় তবে কাটাকাটির পরে যা বাকী থাকবে তা ব্যক্তিগত ভাবে দুই ব্যক্তির মধ্যে মিটমাট করা হবে। এরূপ ক্ষেত্রে বা যে সব মুসলমানের স্ত্রী কাফেরদের দিকে চলে গেছে এবং শর্তানুযায়ী কাফেররা মুসলমান স্বামীদের মোহরানা ফেরত দেয় নি, এরূপ ক্ষেত্রে এরপর মুসলমানেরা যে যুদ্ধলব্ধ সম্পদ লাভ করবে, এই যুদ্ধলব্ধ সম্পদ বা ‘রাজকোষ ‘ থেকেই মুসলমান স্বামীদের প্রাপ্য দিয়ে দিতে হবে। ” তারা যাহা ব্যয় করেছে, তার সমপরিমাণ অর্থ ব্যয় করবে।”
