মুমিনগণ! তোমরা আল্লাহ তা’আলার কাছে তওবা কর-আন্তরিক তওবা। আশা করা যায়, তোমাদের পালনকর্তা তোমাদের মন্দ কর্মসমূহ মোচন করে দেবেন এবং তোমাদেরকে দাখিল করবেন জান্নাতে, যার তলদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত। সেদিন আল্লাহ নবী এবং তাঁর বিশ্বাসী সহচরদেরকে অপদস্থ করবেন না। তাদের নূর তাদের সামনে ও ডানদিকে ছুটোছুটি করবে। তারা বলবেঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমাদের নূরকে পূর্ণ করে দিন এবং আমাদেরকে ক্ষমা করুন। নিশ্চয় আপনি সবকিছুর উপর সর্ব শক্তিমান।
O you who believe! Turn to Allâh with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) the Day that Allâh will not disgrace the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and those who believe with him, their Light will run forward before them and with (their Records Books of deeds) in their right hands they will say: ”Our Lord! Keep perfect our Light for us [and do not put it off till we cross over the Sirât (a slippery bridge over the Hell) safely] and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things .”
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا تُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَوْبَةً نَّصُوحًا عَسَى رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُكَفِّرَ عَنكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَيُدْخِلَكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ يَوْمَ لَا يُخْزِي اللَّهُ النَّبِيَّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ نُورُهُمْ يَسْعَى بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَبِأَيْمَانِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا أَتْمِمْ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo tooboo ila Allahi tawbatan nasoohan AAasa rabbukum an yukaffira AAankum sayyi-atikum wayudkhilakum jannatin tajree min tahtiha al-anharu yawma la yukhzee Allahu alnnabiyya waallatheena amanoo maAAahu nooruhum yasAAa bayna aydeehim wabi-aymanihim yaqooloona rabbana atmim lana noorana waighfir lana innaka AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun
YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance: In the hope that your Lord will remove from you your ills and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow,- the Day that Allah will not permit to be humiliated the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their Light will run forward before them and by their right hands, while they say, “Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for Thou hast power over all things.”
PICKTHAL: O ye who believe! Turn unto Allah in sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your evil deeds and bring you into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, on the day when Allah will not abase the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their light will run before them and on their right hands; they will say: Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us! Lo! Thou art Able to do all things.
SHAKIR: O you who believe! turn to Allah a sincere turning; maybe your Lord will remove from you your evil and cause you to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, on the day on which Allah will not abase the Prophet and those who believe with him; their light shall run on before them and on their right hands; they shall say: Our Lord! make perfect for us our light, and grant us protection, surely Thou hast power over all things.
KHALIFA: O you who believe, you shall repent to GOD a firm repentance. Your Lord will then remit your sins and admit you into gardens with flowing streams. On that day, GOD will not disappoint the prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will radiate in front of them and to their right. They will say, “Our Lord, perfect our light for us, and forgive us; You are Omnipotent.”

৮। হে বিশ্বাসীগণ ! ৫৫৪২। আন্তরিক অনুতাপের মাধ্যমে আল্লাহ্র দিকে ফিরে এসো; এই আশায় যে, তোমাদের প্রভু তোমাদের মন্দ কর্মগুলি মোচন করে দেবেন ৫৫৪৩, এবং তোমাদের প্রবেশ করাইবেন সেই বেহেশতে যার পাদদেশে নদী প্রবাহিত। রসুল এবং তাঁর সাথে যারা বিশ্বাসী, সেদিন আল্লাহ্ তাদের অপমানিত হতে দেবেন না। [ সেদিন ঈমানের ] জ্যোতি তাদের সম্মুখে ও ডানদিকে ছুটতে থাকবে ৫৫৪৪, যখন তারা বলবে, “আমাদের প্রভু ! আমাদের জন্য আমাদের জ্যোতিকে পূর্ণতা দান কর, এবং আমাদের জন্য ক্ষমা মঞ্জুর কর। নিশ্চয়ই তুমি সর্ব বিষয়ে সর্বশক্তিমান।”
৫৫৪২। নারী ও পুরুষকে একক ভাবে ও সংঘবদ্ধভাবে নিন্দা জ্ঞাপনের পরে এই আয়াতে আহ্বান করা হয়েছে আলোর প্রতি। যে আলো পরলোকে পথ প্রদর্শন করবে। এ কথা সকলকে অনুভব করার জন্য উদ্বুদ্ধ করা হয়েছে যে, যারা পৃথিবীতে মন্দ থেকে রক্ষা পাওয়ার জন্য চেষ্টা করে এবং পূণ্য কাজে আত্মনিয়োগ করে, তাদের সেই চেষ্টার ফললাভ ঘটে পরলোকেও।
৫৫৪৩। পৃথিবীতে মানুষের দুঃখ কষ্টের জন্য মানুষ স্বয়ং দায়ী। মানুষ যখন প্রবৃত্তির দাসে পরিণত হয় ; হৃদয়ে বিরাজিত হিংসা, দ্বেষ, লোভ-লালসা ইত্যাদি বিভিন্ন রীপু সমূহ যখন প্রবল আকার ধারণ করে, তখন আত্মার মাঝে যন্ত্রণার উদ্ভব ঘটে। আল্লাহ্ এই আয়াতে বলেছেন যে, অতীতে আমাদের যাই দোষত্রুটি ঘটে থাকুক না কেন তাওবার মাধ্যমে এবং সৎকাজের দ্বারা আল্লাহ্ বান্দাকে পার্থিব দুঃখ কষ্ট থেকে এবং আত্মার যন্ত্রণা থেকে মুক্তি দান করবেন। প্রকৃত পক্ষে যারা প্রবৃত্তি বা রীপুর তাড়না থেকে নিজেকে রক্ষা করতে পারে এবং অতীতের গুণাহ্ থেকে মাপ চেয়ে সৎকাজে আত্মনিয়োগ করে আল্লাহ্ তাদের অন্তরকে বেহেশতি শান্তিতে ভরিয়ে দেন এবং আমরা আমাদের কৃতকর্মের দ্বারা যেসব বিপর্যয়ের শীকার হই তা থেকে আমাদের রক্ষা করেন।
৫৫৪৪। দেখুন অনুরূপ আয়াত [ ৫৭ : ১২ ]। পাপ কর্ম ও প্রবৃত্তির তাড়না আত্মার বিশুদ্ধতাকে ও স্বচ্ছতাকে ঢেকে দেয়। ফলে আত্মার মাঝে আল্লাহ্র নূর প্রতিফলিত হতে বাঁধার সৃষ্টি করে। পাপের করাল গ্রাস থেকে মুক্তি পাওয়ার ফলে মুমিন বান্দাদের আত্মার মাঝে আল্লাহ্র নূর বা হেদায়েতের আলো প্রতিফলিত হয়, এবং দিনে দিনে তা বৃদ্ধি পেয়ে সফল পরিণতি ও পূর্ণতার দিকে অগ্রসর হয়। পূণ্যাত্মারা তাদের এই সফল পরিণতিতেও সন্তুষ্ট থাকবেন না তারা তাদের মন্দ কর্মের ক্ষুদ্রতম কণার কালিমা থেকেও মুক্তির জন্য এবং আত্মিক পূর্ণতা লাভের জন্য আল্লাহ্র দরবারে প্রার্থনা করবেন। যখন বান্দার মনের এরূপ অবস্থা প্রাপ্ত হয়, তখন আল্লাহ্র অনুগ্রহ ও করুণা তাদের সর্ব সত্তাকে বিধৌত করে এবং তারা পরিপূর্ণ পূর্ণতার দিকে অগ্রসর হন।
