শাস্তি এভাবেই আসে এবং পরকালের শাস্তি আরও গুরুতর; যদি তারা জানত!
Such is the punishment (in this life), but truly, the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they but knew.
كَذَلِكَ الْعَذَابُ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
Kathalika alAAathabu walaAAathabu al-akhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona
YUSUFALI: Such is the Punishment (in this life); but greater is the Punishment in the Hereafter,- if only they knew!
PICKTHAL: Such was the punishment. And verily the punishment of the Hereafter is greater if they did but know.
SHAKIR: Such is the chastisement, and certainly the chastisement of the hereafter is greater, did they but know!
KHALIFA: Such was the requital. But the retribution of the Hereafter is far worse, if they only knew.
৩৩। [ এই পৃথিবীর জীবনে ] এই হলো শাস্তি। কিন্তু পরকালে রয়েছে আরও কঠিনতর শাস্তি ; যদি তারা জানতো ৫৬১৬।
৫৬১৬। যদিও আল্লাহ্র আইন প্রত্যাখানকারী, স্বার্থপর, উদ্ধত, অহংকারী এবং পাপীদের শাস্তি হঠাৎ করেই নিপতিত হয়; কিন্তু তার পরেও কেউ যদি আন্তরিকভাবে অনুতপ্ত হয়, তবে আল্লাহ্র ক্ষমার হাত তার জন্য সর্বদা প্রসারিত।
পাপীদের প্রতি প্রদত্ত ইহকালের শাস্তি তাদের হতবুদ্ধি করে থাকে। তবে পরলোকের শাস্তি যে কতটা ভয়াবহ হবে তা আমাদের কল্পনারও বাইরে। কারণ সে শাস্তি হবে অনন্ত কাল ব্যপী এবং তখন আর অনুতাপের মাধ্যমে আত্মসংশোধনের সুযোগ পাওয়া যাবে না।
