এটা এজন্য যে, তারা বিশ্বাস করার পর পুনরায় কাফের হয়েছে। ফলে তাদের অন্তরে মোহর মেরে দেয়া হয়েছে। অতএব তারা বুঝে না।
That is because they believed, then disbelieved, therefore their hearts are sealed, so they understand not.
ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ آمَنُوا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا فَطُبِعَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ
Thalika bi-annahum amanoo thumma kafaroo fatubiAAa AAala quloobihim fahum la yafqahoona
YUSUFALI: That is because they believed, then they rejected Faith: So a seal was set on their hearts: therefore they understand not.
PICKTHAL: That is because they believed, then disbelieved, therefore their hearts are sealed so that they understand not.
SHAKIR: That is because they believe, then disbelieve, so a seal is set upon their hearts so that they do not understand.
KHALIFA: This is because they believed, then disbelieved. Hence, their minds are blocked; they do not understand.
৩। তার কারণ তারা ঈমান আনে, তারপরে তারা ঈমানকে প্রত্যাখান করে। সুতারাং তাদের হৃদয়ের উপরে মোহর করে দেয়া হয়েছে ৫৪৬৮। ফলে তারা [ কিছুই ] বুঝতে পারবে না।
৫৪৬৮। দেখুন [ ২ : ৭ ]। দুনৌকায় পা দিয়ে যেরূপ চলা যায় না। এরূপ ব্যক্তির নিরাপত্তা যেরূপ হুমকির মুখে; আধ্যাত্মিক জগতে ঠিক সেরূপ অবস্থা হচ্ছে মোনাফেকদের। তাদের দ্বিবিধ নীতির ফলে তাদের অন্তর সর্বদা থাকে দোদুল্যমান। এই দোদুল্যমান হৃদয় তাদের সত্য অনুধাবনে বাঁধা স্বরূপ। কুয়াশা যেরূপ চেনা পৃথিবীর অস্তিত্বকে মুছে দেয়, মোনাফেকীর ফলে এসব ব্যক্তির হৃদয়েও সেরূপ সত্যের প্রকৃত রূপ আড়াল হয়ে যায়। আরবীতে, ‘হৃদয় ‘ শব্দটি দ্বারা অনুভূতি ও উপলব্ধির ক্ষমতাকে বোঝানো হয়। মোনাফেকরা সত্যকে বোঝার ও উপলব্ধির করার ক্ষমতা হৃদয়ের মাঝে হারিয়ে ফেলবে এই হচ্ছে আল্লাহ্র অমোঘ নীতি।
