তোমাদেরকে করতলগত করতে পারলে তারা তোমাদের শত্রু হয়ে যাবে এবং মন্দ উদ্দেশ্যে তোমাদের প্রতি বাহু ও রসনা প্রসারিত করবে এবং চাইবে যে, কোনরূপে তোমরা ও কাফের হয়ে যাও।
Should they gain the upper hand over you, they would behave to you as enemies, and stretch forth their hands and their tongues against you with evil, and they desire that you should disbelieve.
إِن يَثْقَفُوكُمْ يَكُونُوا لَكُمْ أَعْدَاء وَيَبْسُطُوا إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَلْسِنَتَهُم بِالسُّوءِ وَوَدُّوا لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ
In yathqafookum yakoonoo lakam aAAdaan wayabsutoo ilaykum aydiyahum waalsinatahum bialssoo-i wawaddoo law takfuroona
YUSUFALI: If they were to get the better of you, they would behave to you as enemies, and stretch forth their hands and their tongues against you for evil: and they desire that ye should reject the Truth.
PICKTHAL: If they have the upper hand of you, they will be your foes, and will stretch out their hands and their tongues toward you with evil (intent), and they long for you to disbelieve.
SHAKIR: If they find you, they will be your enemies, and will stretch forth towards you their hands and their tongues with evil, and they ardently desire that you may disbelieve.
KHALIFA: Whenever they encounter you, they treat you as enemies, and hurt you with their hands and tongues. They want you to disbelieve.
২। যদি তারা তোমাদের হাতে পায় ৫৪১১, তবে তারা তোমাদের সাথে শত্রুর মত ব্যবহার করবে, এবং তোমাদের ক্ষতি সাধনের জন্য তাদের হস্ত ও রসনাকে প্রসার করবে। তারা কামনা করে যে, তোমরাও সত্যকে প্রত্যাখান কর।
৫৪১১। যেখানে ধর্ম ও নিজ সম্প্রদায় বিপন্ন, সেখানে শত্রুদের সাথে যে কোনও সখ্যতা হচ্ছে জাতির সাথে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা। নিজ জনগণের সাথে বিশ্বস্ততার প্রশ্নটি এখানে জড়িত। এরূপ ক্ষেত্রে শত্রু পক্ষের যে আচরণ তাই-ই এই আয়াতের মাধ্যমে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে শত্রুরা তোমাকে স্বাগত জানাবে – বিড়াল যেভাবে ইদুরকে স্বাগত জানায়। এরূপ ক্ষেত্রে শত্রুরা যখন তোমাকে ও তোমার সম্প্রদায়কে নিজেদের আয়ত্বে আনতে সক্ষম হবে তখন কি ঘটে ? তখন তারা তাদের নিজ মূর্তি ধারণ করে। তাদের আচরণ তখন হয় ভয়াবহ। তারা শুধু যে তাদের জিহ্বা ও হাত দ্বারাই তোমাকে কষ্ট দেয় তাই-ই নয়।তাদের ঘৃণার প্রকাশ ঘটে এই বাক্য দ্বারা ” নিজ সম্প্রদায়ের সাথে বিশ্বাসঘাতক।” যদি তারা মিষ্ট কথা বা আচরণ দ্বারা এখন তোমার সাথে ষড়যন্ত্র করতে চায়, তবে তা হচ্ছে তোমাকে সত্য ও ন্যায়ের পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত করার জন্য এবং তোমাকে তাদের পাপের পথে পরিচালিত করার জন্য। তারা কখনও তোমার মিত্র নয়।
