শ্রীভগবানুবাচ ।
ঊর্ধ্বমূলমধঃশাখমশ্বত্থং প্রাহুরব্যয়ম্ ।
ছন্দাংসি য়স্য পর্ণানি য়স্তং বেদ স বেদবিত্ ॥ ১৫-১॥
শ্রীভগবানুবাচ = the Supreme Personality of Godhead said
ঊর্ধ্বমূলং = with roots above
অধঃ = downwards
শাখং = branches
অশ্বত্থং = a banyan tree
প্রাহুঃ = is said
অব্যয়ং = eternal
ছন্দাংসি = the Vedic hymns
য়স্য = of which
পর্ণানি = the leaves
য়ঃ = anyone who
তং = that
বেদ = knows
সঃ = he
বেদবিত্ = the knower of the Vedas.
