ধূমো রাত্রিস্তথা কৃষ্ণঃ ষণ্মাসা দক্ষিণায়নম্ ।
তত্র চান্দ্রমসং জ্যোতির্যোগী প্রাপ্য নিবর্ততে ॥ ৮-২৫॥
ধুমঃ = smoke
রাত্রিঃ = night
তথা = also
কৃষ্ণঃ = the fortnight of the dark moon
ষণ্মাসাঃ = the six months
দক্ষিণায়নং = when the sun passes on the southern side
তত্র = there
চান্দ্রমসং = the moon planet
জ্যোতিঃ = the light
য়োগী = the mystic
প্রাপ্য = achieving
নিবর্ততে = comes back.
