যার জন্যে শাস্তির হুকুম অবধারিত হয়ে গেছে আপনি কি সে জাহান্নামীকে মুক্ত করতে পারবেন?
Is, then, one against whom the decree of Punishment is justly due (equal to one who eschews Evil)? Wouldst thou, then, deliver one (who is) in the Fire?
أَفَمَنْ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِ كَلِمَةُ الْعَذَابِ أَفَأَنتَ تُنقِذُ مَن فِي النَّارِ
Afaman haqqa AAalayhi kalimatu alAAathabi afaanta tunqithu man fee alnnari
YUSUFALI: Is, then, one against whom the decree of Punishment is justly due (equal to one who eschews Evil)? Wouldst thou, then, deliver one (who is) in the Fire?
PICKTHAL: Is he on whom the word of doom is fulfilled (to be helped), and canst thou (O Muhammad) rescue him who is in the Fire?
SHAKIR: What! as for him then against whom the sentence of chastisement is due: What! can you save him who is in the fire?
KHALIFA: With regard to those who have deserved the retribution, can you save those who are already in Hell?
১৯। যার প্রতি শাস্তির হুকুম অবধারিত হয়ে গেছে [ সে কি তার সমান যে মন্দ থেকে বিরত থাকে ] ? ৪২৭০। যে ব্যক্তি [ জাহান্নামের ] আগুনে রয়েছে তুমি কি তাকে রক্ষা করতে পার ?
৪২৭০। পাপে যে আসক্ত , সে এরই মাঝে বিকৃত আনন্দ খুঁজে পায়। পাপ কাজকে তার চোখে শোভন মনে হয়। পাপের মাঝে আকণ্ঠ নিমগ্ন থাকার ফলে এ সব আত্মা আল্লাহ্র রহমত ও অনুগ্রহ ধারণ ক্ষমতা হারিয়ে ফেলে। এসব আত্মার বর্ণনা আছে সূরা [ ৬ : ২৫, ২৬, ৩৯ ] ও আরও বহু আয়াতে। ফলে তাদের পক্ষে আল্লাহ্র প্রত্যাদেশকে উপলব্ধি করা সম্ভব নয়। তাদের আত্মায় আল্লাহ্র নূর প্রবেশের ক্ষমতা হারায়। এদের কথাই এই আয়াতে বলা হয়েছে।
