আমি প্রত্যেককেই তার অপরাধের কারণে পাকড়াও করেছি। তাদের কারও প্রতি প্রেরণ করেছি প্রস্তরসহ প্রচন্ড বাতাস, কাউকে পেয়েছে বজ্রপাত, কাউকে আমি বিলীন করেছি ভূগর্ভে এবং কাউকে করেছি নিমজ্জত। আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি যুলুম করার ছিলেন না; কিন্তু তারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের প্রতি যুলুম করেছে।
So We punished each (of them) for his sins, of them were some on whom We sent Hâsiban (a violent wind with shower of stones) [as the people of Lout (Lot)], and of them were some who were overtaken by AsSaihah [torment awful cry, etc. (as Thamûd or Shu’aib’s people)], and of them were some whom We caused the earth to swallow [as Qârûn (Korah)], and of them were some whom We drowned [as the people of Nûh (Noah), or Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and his people]. It was not Allâh Who wronged them, but they wronged themselves.
فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنبِهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ الصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
Fakullan akhathna bithanbihi faminhum man arsalna AAalayhi hasiban waminhum man akhathat-hu alssayhatu waminhum man khasafna bihi al-arda waminhum man aghraqna wama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona
YUSUFALI: Each one of them We seized for his crime: of them, against some We sent a violent tornado (with showers of stones); some were caught by a (mighty) Blast; some We caused the earth to swallow up; and some We drowned (in the waters): It was not Allah Who injured (or oppressed) them:” They injured (and oppressed) their own souls.
PICKTHAL: So We took each one in his sin; of them was he on whom We sent a hurricane, and of them was he who was overtaken by the (Awful) Cry, and of them was he whom We caused the earth to swallow, and of them was he whom We drowned. It was not for Allah to wrong them, but they wronged themselves.
SHAKIR: So each We punished for his sin; of them was he on whom We sent down a violent storm, and of them was he whom the rumbling overtook, and of them was he whom We made to be swallowed up by the earth, and of them was he whom We drowned; and it did not beseem Allah that He should be unjust to them, but they were unjust to their own souls.
KHALIFA: All those disbelievers were doomed as a consequence of their sins. Some of them we annihilated by violent winds, some were annihilated by the quake, some we caused the earth to swallow, and some we drowned. GOD is not the One who wronged them; it is they who wronged their own souls.
৪০। তাদের প্রত্যেককেই আমি তাদের অপরাধের জন্য শাস্তি দিয়েছিলাম। তাদের কারও বিরুদ্ধে প্রেরণ করেছি [ পাথর বর্ষণ সহ ] প্রচন্ড ঝটিকা ৩৪৬২ , কাউকে আঘাত করেছিলো [ প্রচন্ড ] বিস্ফোরণ ৩৪৬৩ ; কাউকে প্রোথিত করেছিলাম ভূগর্ভে ৩৪৬৪, এবং কাউকে করেছিলাম নিমজ্জিত ৩৪৬৫। আল্লাহ্ তাদের ক্ষতি [বা অত্যাচার ] করেন নাই ; তারা নিজেরাই নিজের আত্মার প্রতি ক্ষতি ও অত্যাচার করেছিলো।
৩৪৬২। ‘Hasib’ প্রস্তরসহ প্রচন্ড ঝটিকা ; দেখুন আয়াত [ ১৭ : ৬৮ ] এই শাস্তি দান করা হয়েছিলো লূতের সম্প্রদায়কে [ দেখুন ৫৪ : ৩৪ ] কোন কোন তফসীরকারে মতে এই আয়াতে উল্লেখিত এই শাস্তি দেয়া হয়েছিলো আদ্ জাতিকে। কিন্তু তাদের শাস্তির বিবরণ আছে [ ৪১ : ১৬; ৫৪ : ১৯ এবং ৬৯ : ৬ ] আয়াত সমূহে যা থেকে ধারণা করা যায় যে , আদ্ জাতির উপরে যে ভয়াবহ শাস্তি নেমে এসেছিলো সেখানে প্রস্তর বৃষ্টি ছিলো না। তা ছিলো প্রচন্ড বালির ঝঞ্ঝা। যার ফলে অন্য স্থানের বালি এসে তাদের দেশকে বালির নীচে ডুবিয়ে দেয়।
৩৪৬৩। Saihat মহানাদ বা বিস্ফোরণের প্রচন্ড ধাক্কা। দেখুন বিবরণের জন্য আয়াত [ ১১ : ৬৭ ] এবং টিকা ১৫৬১; আয়াত [ ৭ : ৭৮ ] এবং টিকা ১০৪৭; আয়াত [ ১৫ : ৭৩ ] এবং টিকা ১৯৯৬। এই শব্দটি ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে নিম্ন লিখিত জাতিসমূহের পরিণতি বর্ণনা করার জন্য।
১) সামুদ জাতি [ ১১ : ৬৭ ] ; মাদিয়ান জাতি [ ১১ : ৯৪ ]; লূতের সম্প্রদায় [ ১৫ : ৭৩ ] ; এবং হিজ্র বা পার্বত্য এলাকার অধিবাসী [ ১৫ : ৮৩ ] যা সামুদ জাতির রাজ্যের অর্ন্তগত ছিলো।
৩৪৬৪। এই শাস্তি ঘটেছিলো কারূণের বেলাতে। দেখুন [ ২৮ : ৮১ ] এবং [ ১৬ : ৪৫ ] আয়াত ও টিকা ২০৭১।
৩৪৬৫। এই শাস্তিটি ছিলো ফেরাউন , তার অনুসারীরা ও হামানের জন্য [ ২৮ : ৪০ ] এবং নূহ্ এর সময়ের দুষ্ট লোকদের ভাগ্যে [ ২৬ : ১২০ ]।
