যখন আমার প্রেরিত ফেরেশতাগণ সুসংবাদ নিয়ে ইব্রাহীমের কাছে আগমন করল, তখন তারা বলল, আমরা এই জনপদের অধিবাসীদেরকে ধ্বংস করব। নিশ্চয় এর অধিবাসীরা জালেম।
And when Our Messengers came to Ibrâhim (Abraham) with the glad tidings they said: ”Verily, we are going to destroy the people of this [Lout’s (Lot’s)] town (i.e. the town of Sodom in Palestine) truly, its people have been Zâlimûn [wrong-doers, polytheists and disobedient to Allâh, and have also belied their Messenger Lout (Lot)].”
وَلَمَّا جَاءتْ رُسُلُنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ بِالْبُشْرَى قَالُوا إِنَّا مُهْلِكُو أَهْلِ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ إِنَّ أَهْلَهَا كَانُوا ظَالِمِينَ
Walamma jaat rusuluna ibraheema bialbushra qaloo inna muhlikoo ahli hathihi alqaryati inna ahlaha kanoo thalimeena
YUSUFALI: When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: “We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime.”
PICKTHAL: And when Our messengers brought Abraham the good news, they said: Lo! we are about to destroy the people of that township, for its people are wrong-doers.
SHAKIR: And when Our messengers came to Ibrahim with the good news, they said: Surely we are going to destroy the people of this town, for its people are unjust.
KHALIFA: When our messengers went to Abraham with good news (about Isaac’s birth), they also said, “We are on our way to annihilate the people of that town (Sodom), for its people have been wicked.”
৩০। সে বলেছিলো, ” হে আমার প্রভু ! অশান্তি সৃষ্টিকারী সম্প্রদায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আমাকে সাহায্য কর। ”

৩১। যখন আমার বার্তাবাহক দূত ইব্রাহীমের নিকট সুসংবাদ সহ আগমন করলো ৩৪৫২; তারা বলেছিলো , “আমরা অবশ্যই এই জনপদের অধিবাসীদের ধ্বংস করতে যাচ্ছি ৩৪৫৩। সত্যিই তারা অপরাধে [ আসক্ত]।”
৩৪৫২। দেখুন [ ১১ : ৬৯ – ৭৬ ] আয়াত। ফেরেশতারা লূতের সম্প্রদায়ের ধ্বংসের জন্য পৃথিবীতে এসেছিলেন। কারণ লূতের সম্প্রদায়ের লোকেরা তাদের জঘন্য পাপের দ্বারা পৃথিবীর পরিবেশকে কলুষিত করে তুলেছিলো। পথে ফেরেশতারা ইব্রাহীমকে বৃদ্ধ বয়েসে পুত্র সন্তান লাভের সুসংবাদ দান করেন। ইব্রাহীম জানতেন যে সেখানে তাঁর ভ্রাতুষ্পুত্র লূত অবস্থান করছেন, সুতারাং তিনি অত্যন্ত উদ্বিগ্ন বোধ করেন। ফেরেশতারা তাঁকে লূতের নিরাপত্তার ব্যাপারে আশ্বাস দেন।
৩৪৫৩। জনপদবাসী বলতে এখানে ‘সদ্ম’ ও ‘গোমরাহ্ ‘ নামক দুটি শহরকে বোঝানো হয়েছে। এই শহর দুটির লোক তাদের ঘৃণ্য কার্যকলাপের দ্বারা সীমা অতিক্রম করেছিলো। সুতারাং তারা আল্লাহ্র করুণা লাভে অসমর্থ হয়েছিলো।
