তখন ইব্রাহীমের সম্প্রদায়ের এছাড়া কোন জওয়াব ছিল না যে তারা বলল, তাকে হত্যা কর অথবা অগ্নিদগ্ধ কর। অতঃপর আল্লাহ তাকে অগ্নি থেকে রক্ষা করলেন। নিশ্চয় এতে বিশ্বাসী লোকদের জন্যে নিদর্শনাবলী রয়েছে।
So nothing was the answer of [Ibrahîm’s (Abraham)] people except that they said: ”Kill him or burn him.” Then Allâh saved him from the fire. Verily, in this are indeed signs for a people who believe.
فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا اقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنجَاهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo oqtuloohu aw harriqoohu faanjahu Allahu mina alnnari inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yu/minoona
YUSUFALI: So naught was the answer of (Abraham’s) people except that they said: “Slay him or burn him.” But Allah did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who believe.
PICKTHAL: But the answer of his folk was only that they said: “Kill him” or “Burn him.” Then Allah saved him from the Fire. Lo! herein verily are portents for folk who believe.
SHAKIR: So naught was the answer of his people except that they said: Slay him or burn him; then Allah delivered him from the fire; most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe.
KHALIFA: The only response from his people was their saying, “Kill him, or burn him.” But GOD saved him from the fire. This should provide lessons for people who believe.
২৪। [ ইব্রাহীমের ] সম্প্রদায়ের শুধু এই উত্তর ছিলো, ” তাকে হত্যা কর অথবা আগুনে পোড়াও।” কিন্তু আল্লাহ্ তাঁকে আগুন থেকে রক্ষা করেন ৩৪৪৪। যারা বিশ্বাসী এর মাঝে তাদের জন্য রয়েছে নিদর্শন।
৩৪৪৪। দেখুন [ ২১ : ৬৬- ৭০ ] আয়াত। হযরত ইব্রাহীমকে অগ্নিতে নিক্ষেপ করা হলো , কিন্তু আল্লাহ্র অনুগ্রহে অগ্নি তাঁর কোনও ক্ষতি করতে পারলো না। এই উদাহরণের মাধ্যমে আল্লাহ্ আমাদের উপদেশ দিয়েছেন যে, দুষ্টদের ষড়যন্ত্রের দ্বারা পূণ্যাত্মাদের কোনও ক্ষতি হবে না কারণ তাদের রক্ষা করবেন স্বয়ং আল্লাহ্। কিন্তু প্রয়োজনে তাদের পাপের আবাসস্থলকে ত্যাগ করতে হবে, যদি প্রয়োজন হয় নিজ জন্মভূমিও যেমন করেছিলেন হযরত ইব্রাহীম।
