মানুষের হিসাব-কিতাবের সময় নিকটবর্তী; অথচ তারা বেখবর হয়ে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিচ্ছে।
Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away.
اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مَّعْرِضُونَ
Iqtaraba lilnnasi hisabuhum wahum fee ghaflatin muAAridoona
Pickthall: Their reckoning draweth nigh for mankind, while they turn away in heedlessness.
Yusuf Ali: Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away.
Hilali-Khan: Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness.
Shakir: Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside.
Sher Ali: Nigh unto men has drawn their reckoning, yet they turn away in heedlessness.
Khalifa: Fast approaching is the reckoning for the people, but they are oblivious, averse.
Arberry: Nigh unto men has drawn their reckoning, while they in heedlessness are yet turning away;
Palmer: Their reckoning draws nigh to men, yet in heedlessness they turn aside.
Rodwell: THIS people’s reckoning hath drawn nigh, yet, sunk in carelessness, they turn aside.
Sale : The [time of giving up] their account draweth nigh unto the people [of Mecca]; while they are [sunk] in negligence, turning aside [from the consideration thereof].
০১। মানুষের হিসাব নিকাশের সময় ক্রমাগত নিকটবর্তী হচ্ছে , তবুও তারা উদাসীন এবং তারা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় ২৬৬২।
২৬৬২। হিসাব নিকাশের সময় অর্থাৎ কেয়ামতের দিন। যে ব্যক্তি মরে যায়, তার কেয়ামতের তখনই শুরু হয়ে যায়। অর্থাৎ হিসাব নিকাশ শুরু হয়। মানুষ যত দীর্ঘায়ুই হোক না কেন তার মৃত্যু দূরে নয়। সেই হিসেবে হিসাব নিকাশের সময় আসন্ন। কিন্তু দুর্ভাগ্য এই অমোঘ সত্যকে জানার পরেও তারা উদাসীন এবং যে বাণী বা উপদেশ তাদের পরলোকের শাস্তি থেকে রক্ষা করতে পারবে তা থেকে তারা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়।
