যে কেউ পরকালের ফসল কামনা করে, আমি তার জন্যে সেই ফসল বাড়িয়ে দেই। আর যে ইহকালের ফসল কামনা করে, আমি তাকে তার কিছু দিয়ে দেই এবং পরকালে তার কোন অংশ থাকবে না।
Whosoever desires (with his deeds) the reward of the Hereafter, We give him increase in his reward, and whosoever desires the reward of this world (with his deeds), We give him thereof (what is written for him), and he has no portion in the Hereafter.
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الْآخِرَةِ نَزِدْ لَهُ فِي حَرْثِهِ وَمَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَا لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِن نَّصِيبٍ
Man kana yureedu hartha al-akhirati nazid lahu fee harthihi waman kana yureedu hartha alddunya nu/tihi minha wama lahu fee al-akhirati min naseebin
YUSUFALI: To any that desires the tilth of the Hereafter, We give increase in his tilth, and to any that desires the tilth of this world, We grant somewhat thereof, but he has no share or lot in the Hereafter.
PICKTHAL: Whoso desireth the harvest of the Hereafter, We give him increase in its harvest. And whoso desireth the harvest of the world, We give him thereof, and he hath no portion in the Hereafter.
SHAKIR: Whoever desires the gain of the hereafter, We will give him more of that gain; and whoever desires the gain of this world, We give him of it, and in the hereafter he has no portion.
KHALIFA: Whoever seeks the rewards of the Hereafter, we multiply the rewards for him. And whoever seeks the materials of this world, we give him therefrom, then he receives no share in the Hereafter.

২০। যে কেহ পরকালের ফসল কামনা করে, আমি তার ফসল বর্দ্ধিত করে দেই। এবং যে কেহ এই পৃথিবীর ফসল কামনা করে , আমি তাকে উহার কিছু অংশ দান করি , কিন্তু পরকালে তার কোন অংশ থাকবে না ৪৫৫৫।
৪৫৫৫। মানুষের জাগতিক ও পারলৌকিক কর্মপ্রণালীকে একটি সুন্দর উপমার সাহায্যে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে। কৃষক তাঁর জমি চাষ করে , মাটিকে ফসল বোনার উপযুক্তভাবে তৈরী করে, বীজ বপন করে , প্রয়োজনীয় আগাছা পরিষ্কার করে, এবং তাঁর এই পরিশ্রমের ফসল সময়কালে কেটে ঘরে তোলে। মানুষ যে ফসল বপন করে সেই ফসল-ই ঘরে তোলে। এই হচ্ছে স্রষ্টার আইন। কিন্তু আল্লাহ্ এখানে বলেছেন যে, যারা পারলৌকিক জীবনের জন্য পরিশ্রম করে, আল্লাহ্ তাদের পরিশ্রমের ফসল বহুগুণ করে তাদের দান করবেন। কিন্তু যারা শুধু জাগতিক বিষয়বস্তু এবং পার্থিব গৌরব ও অহংকারে নিমগ্ন থাকবে , তাদের পার্থিব সম্পদ তাদের আকাঙ্খা অনুযায়ী দান করা হবে ,কিন্তু পরলোকের জীবনের জন্য তাদের দুয়ার বন্ধ হয়ে যাবে।
