যদি আপনি দেখতেন যখন অপরাধীরা তাদের পালনকর্তার সামনে নতশির হয়ে বলবে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমরা দেখলাম ও শ্রবণ করলাম। এখন আমাদেরকে পাঠিয়ে দিন, আমরা সৎকর্ম করব। আমরা দৃঢ়বিশ্বাসী হয়ে গেছি।
And if you only could see when the Mujrimûn (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) shall hang their heads before their Lord (saying): ”Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back (to the world), we will do righteous good deeds. Verily! We now believe with certainty.”
وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذِ الْمُجْرِمُونَ نَاكِسُو رُؤُوسِهِمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ رَبَّنَا أَبْصَرْنَا وَسَمِعْنَا فَارْجِعْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ
Walaw tara ithi almujrimoona nakisoo ruoosihim AAinda rabbihim rabbana absarna wasamiAAna faarjiAAna naAAmal salihan inna mooqinoona
YUSUFALI: If only thou couldst see when the guilty ones will bend low their heads before their Lord, (saying:) “Our Lord! We have seen and we have heard: Now then send us back (to the world): we will work righteousness: for we do indeed (now) believe.”
PICKTHAL: Couldst thou but see when the guilty hang their heads before their Lord, (and say): Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back; we will do right, now we are sure.
SHAKIR: And could you but see when the guilty shall hang down their heads before their Lord: Our Lord! we have seen and we have heard, therefore send us back, we will do good; surely (now) we are certain.
KHALIFA: If only you could see the guilty when they bow down their heads before their Lord: “Our Lord, now we have seen and we have heard. Send us back and we will be righteous. Now we have attained certainty.”

১২। যদি তুমি দেখতে পেতে, যখন অপরাধীরা তাদের প্রভুর সামনে মাথা নীচু করে [ বলবে ] : ” হে আমাদের প্রভু ! আমরা দেখলাম এবং আমরা শুনলাম ৩৬৪৩; এখন তুমি আমাদের পুণরায় [ পৃথিবীতে ] প্রেরণ কর। আমরা সৎ কাজ করবো। কারণ [ এখন ] আমরা প্রকৃতই বিশ্বাস করি।”
৩৬৪৩। মৃত্যু পরবর্তী যে জীবন আরম্ভ হবে সে জীবনে প্রতারণা ও আত্ম প্রবঞ্চনার কোনও সুযোগ থাকবে না। মানুষের চিন্তা, ভাবনা, কাজের উদ্দেশ্য বা নিয়ত , কর্ম সকল কিছুই পাপীদের নিকট দিবালোকের ন্যায় সুস্পষ্ট হবে। সত্য উজ্জ্বলভাবে প্রতিভাত হবে। সেদিন পাপীরা আল্লাহ্র ন্যায় বিচারের ভয়ে প্রকম্পিত হবে। তারা অনুতপ্ত চিত্তে পূণঃরায় পৃথিবীতে ফিরে যাওয়ার ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করবে। কিন্তু তাদের সে সময়ের অনুতাপ কোনও কাজে আসবে না, কারণ তা অনেক দেরী হয়ে যাবে। কারণ আমাদের চেনা জানা পৃথিবীর কোনও অস্তিত্বই থাকবে না। নূতন পৃথিবী সৃষ্টি হবে যেখানে পৃথিবীর জীবনের পুণরাবৃত্তি ঘটতে দেয়া হবে না।
